Steel Talon Question

Hello, is this game any good or bad? The reveiws I've read seem to be a mixed bag of opinion about the game. Is $10 too much for it? Just curious as I just traded a bunch of stuff for a Lynx II and two games and a car power adapter and am anxious to get games for it. Also who is the cheapest anyone has found for games besides going the fleabay route? Thanks! Love that Lynx! :D

Steel Talons is a fun game if you can look past the excessive choppiness. Nothing that'll keep you glued to the screen, but pretty good in short bursts.

I would reccomend trying to get in a lot, which might save you the pain of duplicates. It seems most of the good lots on ebay have this game in them.

It's quite fun in short bursts, as nameko said. Nothing you'll be playing for hours though. It's more an arcade style shooter than a heli sim.

As for getting games, try the Goat Store. Nice people, and quite affordable. Some very fun games are easy to get new on evilbay as well. Xybots, Slime World, Electrocop, Rygar, Rampage, etc. Tons of cheap, good stuff for the console.

I like Steel Talons. The polygon effect is pretty good once you get past the low frame rate. The control is fine and to me it's addictive. When I play it I usually follow through to the end, kinda like Wizards & Warriors on the NES (completely different game, I know...just saying). I just wish there was more contrast in the colors and that the guy speaking was more understandable.

actually I love Steel Talons. It's not too hard to just pick up and play for a few minutes (the first level should only take you 1:15 or so). The controls are great if you ask me. You can fly up, down, left right, twist either way, and you can increase or decrease throttle. missles, rockets, and a machinegun. I picked the game up for like $8 i think, one of my best Lynx games in my opinion. The quality doesnt quite compare to games like Ninja Gaiden (like the arcade, not nes), California Games, or Road Blasters. Also, as usual, there is no continue, password or save feature.
