Gabriel
I saw this post and hurriedly checked the Playstation Store. Castlevania 1 with better graphics sounded just peachy to me. I get logged on and... it's not there. Would have been nice to play it during my lunch break.
cimerians
I hate that too..... Lately they have been doing their updates very late in the day....I usually used to get them at noon.
Gabriel
The game finally went up that evening somewhere around a quarter before 8 central. Anyway, beyond that, I enjoy it. This was one of those PS1 stealth releases I never saw. I doubt I would have grabbed it at $40, but as a $6 download it's not bad at all. So, my Castlevania-mania continues. It reminds me of Castlevania IV, only not as tile-ly. The bosses are pretty easy so far. The worst one has been the Medusa, which I eventually beat by practicing the level leading up to her so much I could get through it unscathed and then just beat her in the war of HP attritition. The clock tower level directly following her is kicking my ass though. I really like the green twig healing powerup. Any idea how to get it to appear? Are there any turkey legs in the game? The old recognizable places where they were hidden in previous games hold unpleasant surprises in this one.

I finished this game about 7 years ago when it came out for the PS1, I remember paying around 30 bucks. After you beat the game, you will get a bunch of CV slideshow artwork and also an interview with legendary producer: Koji Igarashi (with short hair! ) There is a turkey leg on the tower level on the right side of the screen as you go up if I remember. Turkey legs are very hard to find. I cant recall how I beat the She-Werewolf up top. I keep getting killed by her and sent back down to the bottom of the tower. I might have to look up a Gamefaq as I do want to finish this again..... By the way the original mode looks awesome! I really like it and it looks just as good as aranged mode. Its a bit different, almost like a different game. Two games for 6 bucks!
