Anyone else playing this? It is an awesome awesome shooter.

I played through the first one and enjoyed it.

 

I'm too much of a cheap bastard, lately, so I haven't picked this up yet. I'll probably wait for an eventual price drop before getting it, at this point.

 

But, I've heard good things and I'm looking forward to playing it!

I got the first Resistance for Xmas and I'm looking forward to playing that one.

I've heard it's great. To be honest I really haven't heard much about the second one.

Resistance 2 is a really great shooter, just as the first one was. I pretty much couldn't put it down and played through it in a few days. Ending was f*cked up, but hardly unexpected.

Liked R1 alot. Nice solid shooter with cool enemies. Ended up borrowing R2 of a buddy to play through it and was totally pissed that there is NO co-op main campaign, just co-op through the "side" campaign. Who does that?! So my interest level has dropped quite a bit and it's now near the bottom of want to play games. Very glad I didn't buy it for that reason alone.

Hmm that does suck as co-op campaign play is one of my most favorite features in games. I didn't get around to trying it in R2 though, which was why I'm surprised to hear that.

I was really only interested in co-op because I enjoy that the most and R! was really awesome in co-op. I sat there for around 10 minutes trying to figure out co-op and finally googled to find out it wasn't there. Also found out you can't sign in two profiles online on a PS3 either. Way to go on that one Sony

Yes, R1 is co-op through campaign but I think only local, not online.

I have the first one. Finished it. Its good.

 

Its online, its also local co-op. Online is only simple capture the flag type stuff as I remember it.

 

The best thing about it is you can play local co-op with a friend at home throughout the whole story AND raise each other from the dead if one of you gets killed.

 

Its great and I think they simply improved things with the 2nd.

 

The reason I like Resistance is because it IS linear and it IS simple to pick up and play regardless of how some "experts" may review it or compare it to other 1st person shooters. I think it completely stands on its own.

Its sad Resistance doesn't get the amount of attention Halo does. IMO the story mode on Resistance is far superior to Halo and online play is at least equal to Halo.

 

I also like the weapons better in Resistance.

If it doesn't feature 4 way online co-op through the entire campaign... I'd have to disagree just based on that fact.
