patters98
I had a Lynx that I picked up in France back in about 1990/91 heavily discounted. I fondly remember the often difficult search for stockists of those pricey games that you could never try out before you bought... But I've noticed that there seem to be 2 types of Lynx I - some have a cross-shaped dpad, others have a circular one. Mine had a circular one but what really annoyed me at the time was that the paintwork on the body of the Lynx started flaking off, particularly around the cart door. Who'd ever heard of a console with the paint coming off? Anyone else get this? Many years later I finally got a mint condition Lynx II second hand, then pestered a few friends and bought all their rare carts off them... Harry_Dodgson
Yes, the paint does come off the Lynx I. If you remove it all carefully you will have a silver Lynx. The case is made of the same type of chromed plastic that comes in model car kits. I suspect that if they had roughed it up a bit before painting it would have stuck better.
