BSA Starfire
I really want to play Burgertime on my telly, but don't have Intellivision and don't want to pay the £40+ on ebay for the console & them spend months hunting out a PAL Burgertime cart(they seem very rare over here in the UK). The Aquarius is even less of an option as it is yet more expensive, £50+ with little hope of getting the cart anyhow. I understand the NES played host to a good version, but I don't own a NES either and think Burgertime was not realeased in a PAL version, or if it was it's damn rare. Is there a cheap NES clone with the Burgertime built in I can get hold of for reasonable money in PAL? Was it released in a playable version on GB, GBC or GBA? Maybe on a retro collection for the PS1(PAL)? Perhaps one of the old retro computers I have played host to a decent version? I have Atari XE GS(so it would have to be a cart), Dragon 32, Spectrum and ORIC, also Atari ST. How about the later consoles? I have 360, Xbox, Gamecube, GBA, Gameboy color and PS1. Any help appreciated, Chris P.S. I have the 2600 version, just want something a little more like the real thing.

I was going to suggest getting a ColecoVision and getting Burgertime for it, but from the above, it seems out of range of your budget... Inky
Wasnt the ColecoVision/CBS version released in PAL format?
BSA Starfire
Thanks for the comments, I just don't really want to buy another console just for the one game. I think Beef Drop for the store might be my answer if it works well in PAL. Chris
Pixelboy
Wasnt the ColecoVision/CBS version released in PAL format? The thing to know about ColecoVision carts is that they work on any NTSC or PAL console. So you can play US CV carts on a PAL console with no real problem. Burgertime was released in PAL territories (in its own european-style box) but the software inside the cartridge is exactly the same as the US version. thefcpguy
There's an Apple II port of Burgertime that's better than the 2600 available online here: http://virtualapple.org/burgertimedisk.html It runs in Flash in a browser- performance is good on my little MSI Wind netbook. Cheers, Bill
thefcpguy
You can also Google "burgertime flash" (without quotes) and find a handful of other Flash versions...
BSA Starfire
Thanks Bill, never realized the Apple 2 was such an adept game platform. My dad used to own a Apple 11 europlus with a TRS80 mono monitor, think we only had Flight sim 2 for it however. I'm really after something I can play crashed on the couch after work and pass the stick about. But nevertheless thanks again, Chris
uosipa llamxew
Was it released in a playable version on GB, GBC or GBA? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=azJFFwddfPM Burgertime Deluxe (Gameboy) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bFWZFdwjKQ Flintstones Burgertime in Bedrock (Gameboy Color) If you have a GBA flash cartridge (a inexpensive cart can be found for 10-20 dollars), you could emulate the NES version with PocketNES. Lauren Tyler
Great Apple 2 Burgertime emulation. Remember playing that at my old school awhile back. (Does anyone know if you can emulate the joystick via keyboard or do you need a real one?)
carmel_andrews
if you've an a8 somewhere there were a couple of PD burgertime variants released, burger chef (Gordon Kakegamic) and burgers (bruce barney) as well as Doug Crockford's 'Burgers !' effort, can't remember if any were any good
Trooper
Actually you can play Us versions of the games on your PAL INTV as well. I must say Burger Time is probably one of the easiest to find games for the Intellivision, at least here in Sweden it seems that Burger Time is always in the bunch if you buy a couple of Intellygames.
BSA Starfire
I got the Gameboy Color Burtime in Bedrock and it's a cracking little game! That's my need for Burgertime sated, thanks all. It looks really great on the Gamecube's, gameboy player on our big telly too. Yaaaaay!
Inky
IIRC, there's a Burgertime clone for Linux called "Burgerspace"
RupanIII
So, I was fascinated to find that the sequel to Burgertime is an Intelivision Exclusive called Diner, and it puts Burgertime in an iso 3d world like Escape From The Planet of The Robot Monsters or Zaxxon. Has anyone seen a fan remake of that for other platforms? I have been looking, figured i'd ask since I happened upon this thread. Thanks! +Torrax
BurgerTime: World Tour is available on the PS3, XB360, and WII systems. Through their respective online stores/services.

Bill Loguidice
That game was pulled from sale quite a while ago. Available or not, I never personally cared for it. I thought the visuals were of the kind of cheap and ugly variety and the gameplay didn't really pass muster. It's unfortunate, because I think there was the possibility for a very good game with the direction that they were going in and didn't quite execute on. Sadly, these modern reimaginings of classic games rarely go well.
+save2600
Besides the Intellivision port, the TI version is among the best ever. Probably cheaper to pick up a TI-99/4A and Burgertime than any other system too. 'Course, best recommendation as always is to save your money until you can afford the stuff you really want. Opry99er
^^THIS^^ The TI-99/4A version is spectacular, compared to most others.
