MLB 09: The Show demo now available on PSN

Just came out yesterday and is available on the PS3 network now; the demo lets you play as either the Phillies or the Rays. I downloaded it and I must say, it is STUNNING. I'd heard a lot about the lighting effects in this game, but seeing them in person is really, really impressive - and they've finally got mascots in the game (well, the Phillie Phanatic, at least). Well worth the download.

 

Obviously, being a demo, it doesn't have everything in it yet - still can't use that new mic to record chants or anything - but I guess this is just to whet our appetites before the full version comes out on March 3rd. I can't wait!

i loved the demo! painfully long download (1.5 gb), but i really dug it!

 

until i played it, i was content with just updating the rosters on my 08, but after playing it and reading about the new updates, i had to pre-order it.

 

the thing i particularly loved about 09 was the improvement over the pitching and batting mechanics. the pitching is more on point and the batting is much more realistic this time around.

This game is absolutely amazing.

 

I don't follow baseball, and even news highlights can bore me (especially with all the talk about A-roid). So as a casual fan (at best), I am loving this game. Road to the Show (RTTS) mode is brilliant as always, but this year, I am playing 14-game seasons with different teams just to see all the different ball parks.
