Of course, drives are better horizontally than vertically, but you shouldn't notice any problems with the slim either way as the problems with their disk drives are manufacturer's issues, not by how they're placed. If you do find problems with the drive because it's been stood up vertically, it won't start for a VERY long time . You're fine either way bud, just put it how you want it .
