JagMX
Well i actually found a nice site, which is user friendly, cherryroms, has good stuff. emuparadise is also up and working again
IceCold
You ... again. Don't you think that just MAYBE he owns the SNES games he intends to download? My SNES is in the basement, my computer is in my room, maybe I would want to play them on my computer. Just like I have Punchout for my NES, but I probably play it almost as much on my computer, because I have a lot of stuff to move around to be able to play the NES. So before you start acting like all these companies would be making millions of dollars more if he doesn't download rom for an outdated game that no companies are still in production of, think about it, he could own the game(s) and if I remember correctly, then it's fully legal. CPUWIZ
You are correct, if he owns the 3500 SNES games he is going to download, it's perfectly legal. I don't give a crap about the money for SNES games anymore, it's just the principle to me. And the fact that it is the same guy asking repeatedly for pirated software for different systems doesn't help either. I guess even in a great board like this one there is bound to be bad apples around.
IceCold
Well, I highly doubt he will download 3500 SNES roms, you know why? Because the majority of people are still using dialup instead of broadband, so it'd take like a 3 weeks of straight downloading to get 3500 SNES roms, so I figure he'll download maybe 10-15, and there's a good chance he could own those games. But that's just my opinion.
JagMX
I was doing a nice job of avioding you dude, but i must get my words in briefly for a second here... First off im not repeatedly asking for pirated software... All iasked for was a burn copy of 2 DC games that, as i stated, was going to buy the original copies once i got the xtra cash. It would be nice to try out the games first to see if i like them to buy the reg's. If i dont like them, adios copies, if i like them, soon ill be aquiring the originals..... secondly - i DO own an SNES system, and im NOT going to dl every single game for the damn system, all i wanted to play were 3 games, Actraiser, Vegas Stakes and MK2 (which is ISDA Protected anywho so icant get it anyway). Im not a pirate man, i should take pictures of my entire game collection to show you that i do not own hundred of illegal copies of games that im sure you think i do. I lik tocollect for systems myself and i like to PAY for ORIGINALS, but sometimes when times are tough, ill settle for something less in the meantime UNTIL i can get my hands on the originals. Im not looking to start any arguments, i dont really like to argue, but i feel the need to defend myself here. Emulation is a great thing in todays technology, enjoy it man, im sure you own at least ONE "backup" of soemthing, so you cant say anything if you do. But im only asking here, not assuming. and also im not a "bad apple" as you say, im a good grape whatever man....you arent even worth the words to defend myself, i dont even know why i even bothered to post this
JagMX
So....as iwas asking, anybody else got some roms sites?
CPUWIZ
That would be nice to see some of those pictures you are talking about. I was not trying to argue with you, I am simply stating my opinion. Didn't mean to offend you and yes I have pirated a game here and there but like you said, I only test them before buying. In the end they are all destroyed. No worries dude, it's all good.
JagMX
Im acutally getting a new Digital camera either tonight or sunday. I can take some pix then and ill post them on the thread somewhere around here. Ive been meaning to get my pix on that particular thread for a while . Xactly man, no worries, it is all good.... We're all gamers and looking to have fun I actually got 2 of the 3 ive been looking for so far, still need MK2.... if all else fails i might end up buying the cart for the snes anywho, just gotta get the system out of the garage somewhere , wonder if its still working
Atari2600Lives
I am against pirated stuff but the fact is that any console that is no longer being made or sold could be emulated without really hurting anyone. I play MAME. I have never even seen half the games in MAME. Find me a Phoenix machine I can pop a quarter into right now and I will but the fact remains that MAME is the only place I am going to get to play it in the year 2002. Pirating games that are new and being sold is completley wrong. Emulating systems that are 20 years old is just plain cool. This is my opinion and I force it on no one. Not wanting to start a flamewar, but whether you play an emulator from a 20-year old machine or if you play an emulator from a 1-day old machine, it doesn't matter. Pirating is pirating. You'll still be using an illegal copy of the software...unless the author/company of a said program/game/whatever has give you or the public specific rights to download/use it. So age has nothing to do with it. Cap
Atari2600Lives
Great Cap...that's your opinion...more power to you. Age does make a difference because some of the games are no longer being sold and no revenue is being generated by them. There are no places to even buy them legally in some cases. Some corporations are no longer in business and the license is owned by no one thus making it public domain.(not all cases but defintely some) It is not perfectly black and white like you make it seem, there is plenty of gray area when it comes to emulation. Again my opinon only and I am not forcing it on you. Emulating the 25 year old magnovox Odessey 2 is not the same as copying brand new PC games...c'mon be logical! Magnavox will not be coming after you...trust me. Your not hurting magnovox's revenue by emulating the Odessey 2...
Fretwobbler
You are correct, if he owns the 3500 SNES games he is going to download, it's perfectly legal. That is not strictly true. If someone owns the game, they are legally entitled to own a backup copy in the form of electronic data, however they must have created the backup themselves or recieved it from a distributer who is licensed to give it to them. The transfer of a copyrighted data in electronic form is illegal because neither party is licensed to distribute the data in this way, so even if someone owns a game and downloads a rom for it, the process of downloading is illegal, not the owning of the rom. Of-course that varies wildly depending on where you live but thats the case for most of the EU.

AtariDude
You are going to have some difficulty with obtaining SNES roms. Nintendo has been cracking the whip on these sites and shutting them down. It is understandable that they do this because they are the copyright holders. So enjoy those sites while you can because if Nintendo finds out where they are, they will shut them down as well.
