This week's game is Food Fight. Sorry for the lack of updates. I've had family up visiting and haven't had much time for much else. I will get everything updated ASAP.

Use ROM version Rev. 3. ROMname is foodf. Here's a link to the ROM:

I changed my strategy from trying to hit as many chef's as possible on the way to the cone to just making a mad dash to the goal and taking out only the chef's that get in the way. It made a huge difference.

Could also be the controller itself - the Analog Sticks on the Playstation controller can move in a circle

while the ones on my Logitech controller are restricted to a square

Maybe I should check into a PS2->USB adapter.

That could be part of it. Have you tried using the d-pad for movement? You only get 8 directions, but I'm curious if that might be less restrictive than your analog stick.

The d-pad seemed worse due to 8 directions. I'm running some errands today, will hit Fry's and Microcenter to see if they have a Playstation Controller->USB adapter. I'd seen them before, just don't recall where.

I looked up the game at klov and the original uses an analog stick. My memory may be fuzzy but I think there is a way to put it in service mode and "calibrate" the stick to be more accurate. But it definitely helps to have some type of analog stick.

I guess this HSC is over right? Our power came back on at 03:30 eastern time.... :(

Using the PS2 to USB joystick adapter helped a lot - it took a week for me to increase by 2,600 points, yet after a few rounds with the PS2 adapter I gained 23,200 points! Needless to say, the game is once again interesting :D

I found it at Fry's for $20. It supports 2 controllers and is an HVG2 PS2 to USB Converter, Model PS203.

Too bad the week is over... though I'm sure it will help with games in the future! Glad you were able to figure the problem out!
