cimerians
http://kotaku.com/5206591/play-final-fanta...on-your-ps3-now According to this....they got it for download if you have a Japanese account. I cant confirm cause I dont have an account. Its kinda nice playing downloaded PS1 games on the PS3\PSP but I already have this on disc and I cant read Japanese. I also am not the biggest fan of VII. I dig the older games. Still, its officially out there. As far as PS1 RPG's go I've been playing Suikoden 1 and I kind of prefer that. DaytonaUSA
Yea I saw that. They really are dropping the ball on the psn version of the VC here in the states. It could have been so grand.

Yeah I know... I know some people that would die for the download of that game. They (Square) know people go apeshit over that game. Not releasing it here makes no sense. They could make mega bucks off that game especially if it were remade.
DaytonaUSA
Yea I saw that. They really are dropping the ball on the psn version of the VC here in the states. It could have been so grand. But if Nintendo can put the time and resources in figuring out how to get some of those games on the VC every week, they should too. The thing that boggles my mind is, while I can understand us not having many Japanese games because of licensing issues, wouldn't we then in turn have a crud load of American titles in our PSN store? The fact that we DON'T I think only shows it's not licensing so much like they're preaching, but simply laziness. Once again, I bet, just like Sega, Sony is divided in how they are working right now, and unfortunately if they don't come up with a common game plan soon, they're going to really feel the pain. The thing that makes me laugh is that the PSP was the first out of the gate with the possibility to have dloadable games sent to it's memory card slot instead of using retail disks, but it seems the DSi, a much newer system, is going to beat it to the punch. If Sony really wants to make a UMDless PSP, they better step up their online game...today. Right now, the PSN is great.. pretty much Live now but free. However, dloadable games are the future and they really don't have much in terms of original content OR classic content. If the iPhone has taught us anything, it's that handhelds NEED dloadable content. I don't see Sony being able to do this in time. FF7 is pretty much the golden ticket to sell consoles like you said, and they aren't using it. I think that says a lot. If they had the ability to use that, they would. Sony of Japan and Sony of America aren't clicking, and being an old Sega fan, that's not what you want to hear. Their recent financial troubles and corporate restructuring are signs that that's probably the case unfortunately. cimerians
Sony in their slowness is really missing out. I agree with what you say, I just dont understand what their problem is. They say they want to release more PSP games for download but what do they give us? Puzzle games, Sports games, Espionage\War games. Then they release Ultimate Ghouls and Ghosts and for 20 dollars?????!!! Morons. I like the systems but there are some people at Sony that haven't a clue. I'm talking the frontmen not the development teams. Morons.
