Richard H.
Just got myself a PS3 and discovered Fable isn't available Anything similar / as good for the system ?
cubejunky
I think the Elder Scrolls games are close the fable, I could be wrong I never played fable just seen trailers for it, and also fallout 3 but that's not set to midevil times that set in the future after a nuclear fallout. moycon
Fable is a lot more cartoony and humorous than either Oblivion or Demon Souls. There's really not a lot of games that give you the experience Fable does. I've played many an RPG and I personally I can't think of any. Closest I can think of, and it's really only close in it's cartoony look and humor and the fact you can level up and buy things for yourself, not so close in the gameplay. Is Overlord. So if I don't much like serious RPGs, but had a lot of fun with something like Link's Awakening, Earthbound, and the original Super Mario RPG, would Fable be a good bet? I like very "light" RPGs (the one exception being Baten Kaitos" because it has such a fun and simple combat system).

Reaperman
well there's always fallout 3--it's damn funny. Other than the comedy it's not terribly similar though. and its not as light as fable, but I couldn't stop laughing anyway. the absurdity of it all. StoneAgeGamer
I thought Fable was a Microsoft property? I have Fable and Fable 2. I enjoyed both. P.S. Oblivion is nothing like Fable.
Richard H.
I picked up Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion yesterday, and so far it's pretty good. I got the 'game of the year edition' which contains some extra stuff.

Moycon posted some of his experiences with it here last year (or the year before maybe) and it sounded so epic, so open, and so random, that I figure if I buy it, I won't play anything else this generation. I barely finished Portal in a week of playing, where I had twice as much time as usual to play, so I doubt I'd finish Oblivion this decade. liveinabin
It IS a bit big. I've clocked about 50 hours, I'm still only level three and I'm spending most of the time wandering around the grounds of my new house, wondering if I'll be able to get away with killing the irritating Orc woman I share it with. Richard H.
Well, been playing it a lot and really enjoying it then I caught vampire disease Went through the cure quest, spent a week getting the ingredients (at night because sun kills you) only to find there's a bug which doesn't allow you to hand over the bloodgrass to the witch (to complete the cure). Now, I can only move about at night, which is SO annoying I'm ready to stop playing
