Site slow and not working lately..

I haven't said anything until now, but for maybe the past week to week and a half or so the site has been experiencing random slowness for me. It's not like painfully slow, but it's between 5 to 15 seconds slower than what it normally is. No big deal and it usually doesn't last very long. Sometimes when it doesn't load at all I'd wait a few seconds and go back to the page I was trying to view and it works.

Today the site was totally down for about 30 to 45 minutes maybe an hour. Not sure exactly as I finally gave up and went to play a game.

The site was down for about 40 minutes this evening, which affected everyone equally.

When you are experiencing the slowdown you're talking about, is it just loading pages slowly (you can see the page loading) or is the initial request slow? I haven't noticed anything odd on my end and it generally comes up quite fast for me.

I believe the server is on the blitz. I'm not confident that it will stay up long. I am prepared to move to a new server if need be. Which isn't entirely a bad thing, albeit quite time consuming for me and expensive as it would incur an overlap in servers. Server company is investigating, from one of the errors that appeared earlier it looks like a hardware issue. I'm up way past my bedtime (it's 6am now) so I'm going to get some sleep and see if it's still running when I wake up, whenever that might be. If not, then I'll be on the phone provisioning a new server.

There seems to be a (possibly related) problem with forum searching at the moment. I get the following message for forum searches:

There was an error processing the request. Please go back and try again, or contact an administrator for assistance.

connection to localhost:3312 failed
