jetset
I have heard that with a Sega Dreamcast, you can have a cd made that plays the Atari 2600/5200/, etc... games? Is this true? And if it is, is the emulation decent or does it suck (like the 5200 emulators out there?) I'd love to play my old fav's on my widescreen, but am too lazy (and poor!) to start "collecting". I'd just kill to play those old games again!

JagMX
The emulation is great dude, some, like the snes emu's have speed issues but new versions keep coming out anywho. The DC's emulation is great, get you some
nashnooga
the 2600 emulator for dreamcast works awesome, its just hard getting use to using a dc controller to play with.
jetset
Thanks all! The site is great! (You weren't kidding about the popups!) Now all I need is a Dream cast and someone who knows what the hell they are doing to help me out! (Although I see there is an emulator for the Xbox, which I actually have....!!!) Decisions, Decisions!!!
liquid_sky
consolevision.com even better, has homebrew goings on with more platform, and popup free!

I'd just kill to play those old games again 5200 emulation on Dreamcast? Hey I just did it and yep, it rocks. I'd say about 70-80% of the games play and hey it's easy. The story is right there on the front page.. but I'll tell you right where to go. Friggin go right here: http://members.chello.nl/~m.schuitemaker/atari/. I went there, followed the directions, and before I knew it I was playing rounds of 5200 Joust and Countermeasure, and Kangaroo on my Dreamcast. Since my 5200 is back at home (and I haven't played it for a couple of years anyway) I couldn't *really* tell you how close it is, but it's pretty darn close as far as I could tell! Great emu.. just post here if you run into any snags.. although you shouldn't <edit> And here's some pics!

oesii
Man, I love the Atari 800 emu on the DC, its gotten more playtime on my dreamcast than any other game the last 2 months. The DCStella 2600 emulation is still a little rough, I think the other emu that's almost as good is the Sega Master System one. My dream would be a 7800 emu but I guess someone would need to port some of the Mess code to the DC.
jetset
Ok, I'm gonna do it! I'm buying a Dreamcast this weekend. Now, does it matter the model? Some of the DC emulation sites say you have to check the back label for certain serial numbers, other sites say it doesn't seem to matter....anyone know for sure?
