RSS Bot
Went to Home Depot yesterday and bought a 4 pack of compact fluorescent bulbs: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores...502955+10401001 I was surprised that you could get a 4 pack for less than 6 dollars. Weren't these things something like 20 dollars a piece a blink of an eye ago? Anyway, when I saw the price, I thought it would be nice to use one above my computer since that light is on most of the day and it gives off too much heat. I put a new compact fluorescent bulb in last night and it barely gives off any heat. It gives off enough warmth that the metal around the bulb isn't cold, but that's all. A huge difference from the burning heat of a regular light bulb. You could probably cook an egg on it before, but now you couldn't even warm up a puddle of gnat vomit. As I write this, it is August 7, 2009. I'll post an update when the bulb dies and we'll see how long one of these affordable compact fluorescent bulbs lasts.
