Cybergoth
More to the point - you're stripping out entire sections of your blog because they can't get their crap together, and come up with a way to properly migrate the older entries over. It ain't brain-surgery. It's data. If a web browser can still parse it, they should be able to cobble together a script that can properly transfer it over to the new software. I spaced on this earlier, I didn't realize Manuel was removing so many entries. Manuel, why are you doing this? It's more or less just an overhaul of the content I present there, focusing it on the more valuable information. Part of my blogging process is try & error and every once in a while I remove the error. The update has kinda given me the chance for an overdue spring-cleaning
Thomas Jentzsch
I just installed Opera and I'm using it now. For one thing, the blue color differences you pointed out before are considerably more pronounced in Opera than they are in Firefox, Safari and IE7. Opera 9.64: 1. 0/102/153 (mostly), 2. 0/120/168 (for the tabs e.g. Forums and the Pac-Man icon), 3. 20/102/153 (for the upper ~40% of the top bar (Have You Played Atari Today?) 4. 13/109/158 (for the upper half of the bottom bar) Firefox 3.52: - 0/102/153 (identical with Opera) - 0/122/170 (0/+2/+2) - 20/103/152 (0/+1/-1) - 13/110/158 (0/+1/0) Safari 4.03: - 0/102/153 (identical with Opera) - 0/122/170 (0/+2/+2) - 20/103/152 (0/+1/-1) - 13/109/158 (identical with Opera) So the values are quite identical. Actually Firefox and Safari are even slightly more off the major dark blue than Opera. Maybe your colors come out diffently, which could be due to your OS or the color profile of your graphics cart/monitor?
Thomas Jentzsch
This (screenshot from FF) doesn't look very good too. In Opera we have the same problem, execpt that the rounded borders are missing and the "jump to" and "next page" arrows aren't taller than the other buttons. Thomas Jentzsch
Is it possible to change the color of the borders around the screenshots from blue to grey (original IP.Board version) -or remove them? Agreed. They should become less sticking out. Either by changing the color or by making them thinner.

Albert
Is it possible to change the color of the borders around the screenshots from blue to grey (original IP.Board version) -or remove them? Yes, I'm going to change that border soon. From the names I guess those are propietary. Not a very good idea to use propietary stuff, IMO. This is intentional, Invision knows that the rounded corners will not render properly in all browsers, but it degrades gracefully. If you're using a good browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), you get the rounded corners. If you're using a bad browser (IE, Opera, etc.) you don't get all the bling. EDIT: Found those properties are called experimental.Maybe that helps for Opera: http://home.e-tjenesten.org/~ato/2009/08/border-radius-opera Holy cow I am so not doing that. The rounded tab at the top of the page is actually comprised of two images, which is why you can see those rounded corners in Opera. Yes, except for the "New Content" page. You mean the tabs that are shown for all the various search results pages (including "View New Content")? Yeah, those are drawn using the CSS styles and not with images. I think they used images for the tabs at the top as they are a bit "fancier" in the default skin (two tones). Since the skin here is only using a single color for the tabs, I could change the tab at the top to use the radius CSS styles, but I'll probably keep it as is. ..Al

Albert
It doesn't seem to matter what I'm searching for. I put a search into the box, it gives me the results. I click on a post and try to return to the search within a few seconds and it gives me a Webpage Has Expired message nearly every time. Invision has fixed this problem for the next release of the software (which I hope is coming within the week). ..Al

Albert
After replacing all with [media] tags in my blog I just discovered that all tags are also broken, none of the links in my playdex works: http://www.atariage.com/forums/blog/54/entry-6284-playdex-2-3/ Anyone know how to fix these? Invision gave me updated code for the BBcode tag, so this is now fixed. ..Al
Albert
When/How are the tag clouds updated by the way? I removed all Ghosts'n'Goblins entries from the blog, but the tag is still in the cloud. Also it assumes two pages worth of G'n'G entries, while stating at the same time that there are none: http://www.atariage.com/forums/blog/54-planet-bob/page__tag__Ghosts'n'Goblins The error that the above link returns has been fixed by Invision for the next version of the software. Looks like I will need to file a separate bug regarding the tags not getting removed (doing that now). ..Al
Albert
Yeah... you don't want to do that. Especially since if you edit anything posted earlier than 2006, the new software will screw up your blog. It doesn't recognize 2005 (or earlier) as a valid date, so it takes it upon itself to change it to 2006 - [ The year field has been fixed, it now starts at 2004. ..Al
+Random Terrain
Has anyone mentioned this yet? When I go to a blog entry and edit it, when I'm done, it doesn't go back to the blog entry, it goes back to the top of my blog that shows multiple entries. Not fun when I might need to add more items to the blog entry I was working on.

Albert
That's good. It's nice that they aren't acting like you're bothering them. Well, that's what they are getting paid to do. I am paying for this software (and a significant amount ever year), so this is really part of the normal support. And fixing problems improves their software. As long as you are entering legitimate issues, describe them clearly, and Invision can reproduce them, they will generally fix them. More complex issues (the blog is full of them) may be put off if the fix is not relatively easy. I have a feeling the blog is going to see some significant changes for the next version. ..Al
Cybergoth
Invision gave me updated code for the BBcode tag, so this is now fixed. Yay! Things are going forward again! Any news on my dotted "Playing..." category tag? And on the tag paging? (Here's an example: http://www.atariage.com/forums/blog/54-planet-bob/page__tag__Colony%207 => It's impossible to access the second page of this tag) Besides the missing "latest comment" info, these two seem to be the biggest issues remaining right now.
