BydoEmpire
I'm not necessarily disagreeing, but I recall Space Hawk being universally hated as kid. Wasn't in Mattel's (loosely based) version of Asteroids? My cousins had Space Hawk, and I thought it was awesome. Mattel definitely pushed it in their marketing, and I don't recall much hate for it. Could just be me. I love the D&D games for the Inty. Treasure of Tarmin was just stunning for the time, although it hasn't aged as well as Cloudy Mountain imho. Definitely get Cloudy Mountain (you'll want the inlays, though). Imagic did great stuff on the Inty - Atlantis lets you fly the saucer to manually shoot down the invaders. Demon Attack has multiple stages and a Phoenix-like boss (still like the 2600 version better, but the Inty one is unique and worth playing). Dracula is amazing, especially 2 player. I used to really love Shark! Shark!, although it's another one you can almost play forever. Haven't played it in ages, though. Night Stalker and Burgertime are in my top 5 Inty games as well. Sonic R
just hooked up my Intellivision recently and my 8 year old daughter and I are having alot of fun with Snafu. It warms my heart that she truely enjoys a game that is 20 years older than she... it is so simple but fun and addictive.. also another game I enjoy is Bump & Jump. Rik
Oh yeah, the Intellivision is a godsend IMO,fantastic system,i love it to death. Its great youngsters learn to like REAL gaming systems like the INTV,and of course the 2600,ColecoVision,etc.I'm not fond of children, but those who take a liking to the classic games, are okay in my book. Charlie_
I never had an Intellivision when I was young. I picked one up off ebay a few years ago. I was just curious to try it out. I have the 1st version of the intellivion and I really love that thing. The short coiled cords for the controllers are a pain, but somehow it never bothers me. The strange disc thumb pad is much better than I thought it would be. Although a normal joystick or pad would have worked better, I think the disc has a nice charm to it sliding your finger around it as if spinning it is very good in some games. Probably makes them more fun than if you had a joystick. Here are the games I recommend, because I play them everytime I have a gaming session with my Itellivision. Pacman Astrosmash Masters of the Universe Pitfall Beauty and the Beast Demon attack Casino Games (I think thats the name) Burger Time Frog Bog Dragon Fire Venture I know there is a few others too, I just can't think of right now
BydoEmpire
I played a few rounds of Dracula the other day - that game holds up really well. Great fun for 1 or 2 players. Definitely worth checking out.
