EricDeLee
So... Is this worth getting? I was an idiot and picked up the regular edition about a month ago. I haven't really gotten too far into the game... but I do like it. (Previously I played through the game further on the XBOX 360... and then set it aside for other games). Today I saw the GOTY edition of this that has all of the extra downloads from the Playstation store on it (or a voucher to redeem them. I'm not sure how that really works). But being that it has all of those extras, I'm wondering if I should sell off the other version and grab this. Are the additional downloads fun? Is it worth it? Cebus Capucinis
The add-ons are generally 1-2 hour additional content. They're pretty fun but don't expect some sort of epic storyline that takes all day to complete and blows you out of the water. The Anchorage one is probably the worst of them, IMHO. It's really buggy (unless they fixed it since I played it) and isn't really that entertaining, as there's no exploring, just straightforward storyline. All the ones after that get pretty cool, though, with The Pitt and eventually the alien mothership one. They're worth it in a GOTY edition, but I am certainly unimpressed with the $12.50 each I paid for them. Add it all up and I could have gotten a complete other game rather than just 4-5 hours of additional content that doesn't really apply to the game itself. moycon
I purposely stopped buying the add-ons when I heard of the GOTY edition. I plan on picking up a used copy of that and just getting everything on one disk.
EricDeLee
That may be a good idea. Not sure if I can wait that long though when it comes to stuff like COD map packs. LOL
Nimtene
The DLC for the 360 version comes on a separate disk than the main game, where the DLC needs to be installed to your HD. Like the Fallout DLC discs that were sold, there is no restriction on installing these on an unlimited amount of consoles. So I expect these to be available cheap secondhand. The PS3 GOTY release, on the other hand has all the content packed onto a single Blu-Ray disk, so the secondhand market will maintain the price longer. liveinabin
I'm picking up the GOTY edition this week. I've finished the regular game, bought Broken Steel and finished that too but the other four DLC packs are a bit pricey - buying the GOTY disc from Amazon is actually still cheaper. Even though I've finished the main game and found everything, I'm still enjoying wandering the wasteland sticking it to the bad guys. Oh yeah, you absolutely NEED the Broken Steel add-on. It's basically the proper end to the story - worth buying for the Tesla Cannon alone.
