Hi, I'm about to build a Vectrex lightpen I'm in the process of procurring parts right now, however I'm kinda of confused on that part. I can't figure out if any of the parts I'm looking at are the right ones and I want to make sure I have the right ones so I only have to order once. I did however manage to find the phototransistor.http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=84F234&CMP=AFC-GB100000001(was marked obsolete at mouser)So if anyone could help me with this, that would be great

As I said above in the first post, I can't really tell which ones are the right ones, mainly the resistors and capacitors. I think this is it for the 10K the resistors http://www.newark.com/multicomp/mcf-0-25w-10k/carbon-film/dp/38K0328 but I can't figure out the capactiors and 2.2k resistor still. Also the 2N3904 transistor. I think I found the semiconductor but I'm not sure http://www.newark.com/nte-electronics/nte74ls132/logic-ic/dp/31C5638

Here's your last part, http://mouser.com/ProductDetail/Texas-Instruments/SN74LS132N/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMutXGli8Ay4kP28D9wZ8SQIl0%2fVrowVA5w%3d

Good luck, it looks like you may be new to do it yourself projects, so I would like to say take everything very very slowly. If your in no rush to finish, you will have a much nicer end project, and less headaches.

Yes I am new to this, but this is a good starting point as it's a simple cicuit. One last thing is, do you know if the phototransistor is on mouser? when I looked it said obsolete but then again I can't find anything. I think I'm just going to order double of all the parts just in case of a screwup I can get back on track.

I couldn't find that particular one, but if you can find all of the specs of it, I'm sure there is something that is very very similar on mouser.

Well all the specs are here, http://www.newark.com/jsp/search/productdetail.jsp?SKU=84F234&CMP=AFC-GB100000001, if you could help me find a similar part that would be great, this is something I really want to do

If this helps, here's the list of part #'s I used when I built mine.

I realize the photo transistor on Mouser is obsolete but they do have a "show similar" link at the bottom of the page.

If you want, I have an extra L14G3 from Mouser that I no longer require.

QTY DESCRIPTION DIGI-KEY # MOUSER #

2 10k ohm resistor (¼) 10KQBK-ND

1 2.2k ohm resistor (¼) 2.2KQBK-ND

1 0.01µF @ 100V capacitor P4904-ND

1 47uf @ 10V capacitor 493-1020-ND 140-XRL16V47-RC

1 L14G3 photo Transistor L14G3-ND 512-L14G3

1 2N3904 transistor 2N3904FS-ND 512-2N3904BU

1 74LS132 chip MM74HC132N-ND 595-SN74LS132N

I have the rest of those parts, I would take that phototransistor that would be great. do you want anything for it?
