RJ
Retronauts does their Atari episode. Better be good, they'll be under heavy scrutiny here.
S1500
A terrorist has planted a bomb somewhere in the city. Kaplan & Whitehead this Friday night at 9, on ABC. Funny, I looked up "The Good Guys", the canceled Fox comedy/drama from 2010 on Wikipedia today. ferg, you spruced up this episode quite a bit. I like it. It's like me at some parts. RJ
Just over halfway thru Retronauts & their info seems iffy & questionable, lots of them saying "...is that correct?" "...is this right?" "The way I heard it is..." IIRC at one point they claim the 5200 got a keyboard, & didnt seem sure which arcade games Atari made when they listed some. They protect themselves early on, mentioning Marty Goldberg & "Business Is Fun" as a more definitive historical account of Atari. No kidding! It felt as if they struggled since they didnt have/couldnt tie in their usual RPG subject matter/material, although prior to the main discussion they go on about Earthbound awhile, which I'm sure they felt more comfortable discussing. ...& there is NO Eskimo character in Kasumi Ninja- which IMO was no worse than any other fighting game of the time. I'm not surprised. They are out of their league. Unless it's about some Japanese RPG that only 8 people in America have played, and somehow manages to tie in Kajima, they won't know what they are talking about. Period. It's like me doing a whole podcast ep about 17th century French authors.
RJ
Yep it's funny early on as I listened I thought in a certain way, they wouldn't be doing what they're doing if it weren't for Atari. & I certainly feel such "seasoned" pedigreed pros like themselves oughta know more about/be more familiar with this subject. S1500
Warning: Do not operate heavy machinery whilst listening to Floppy Days. Off-topic plug: A friend has made a podcast(Roy Folkker on the show) covering comics, table top RPGs, etc. http://thegeeksmenagerie.net/ Yeah, he's gonna talk about FF somewhere, I just know it.

Austin
It's like me doing a whole podcast ep about 17th century French authors. You should totally do that.
Cynicaster
A new arcade podcast has appeared! http://arcadeoutsiders.com/ Will give it a try tonight or tomorrow. 1 episode I listened to this the other day and liked it a lot. Those of you with a low threshold of pain for certain four-letter words might want to skip it, though. I've also been enjoying the NYPWPodcast top 100 (or whatever) rundown. I normally don't give a shart about anything after 16-bit, but listening to those shows has actually got me curious enough to think about checking out some newer games.

S1500
Arcade Outsiders final grade: C+. Worth subscribing. Goes into depth about technical aspects about arcade games, and doesn't bite one's tongue about arcade game buying/selling stories.
RJ
Oooh, C+ only? i'm just about 20 min in where they turn the f-ckometer up to 11. I believe Gameroom Junkies gave us the heads-up on their existence. I love another arcade-themed podcast, & I hope they realize they dont need to swear/be edgy to be good & maintain listeners. ComputerSpaceFan
Since I can now make comments (having actually read what's on the front page) I just thought I'd say again that John is an awesome guy, I listened to his Video Game Outsiders podcast quite a lot and I look forward to trying this new show. RJ
Decent 1st effort. Had some audio issues & they need to rely way less on that Siri gag. I wish them the best- like No Quarter, the sky's the limit when discussing arcade games. Interesting that one guy is here in MN.
S1500
Yeah I noticed a fellow MN resident in the group of voices. Yes, only a C+, for it got a bit cussy & sometimes a bit too much off-topic where you don't know what they were talking about.
RJ
Can someone PM me a hint as to next week's No Quarter game? I know I've heard it before, think I have it & maybe even played it recently, but I cant pinpoint it & it's bugging me. Is it a Williams game? RJ
The Arcade Outsiders podcast is a hot topic over on klov (23 pages! But their "pages" are shorter so more like 10 of ours) Their fellow klov-ian gave it a D+. & I cant tell if it's a running joke but one guy over there really doesnt like them. The host admitted he over-cussed & will curb it & the Siri use (though Siri is not going away). Something about a 41 yr old man saying "that cabinet is fucking sick, dude!" just feels wrong. Oh, & theres a topic there where members post their LIT UP home arcade pics, I know I've seen some of Phet's there- & you dont have to join up to see. On page 6 of General Arcade Discussion thread. RJ
Great to hear Scott stroking himself for Tommy T, making sure he knows he's involved with the MAGFest arcade. "That's MY domain, they back a truck up to my house! Now allow me to talk about my Lotus!" Edited September 2, 2013 by RJ

S1500
Wow Retronauts, get your sh-t straight. Atari made Gotcha, not Exidy. Research much? Guess not. Unless it's a Japanese RPG..... For RGR's news segment, I'll politely say this: stay on target. Stay on target!
RJ
Yeh they were WAY loose this time. I think SoCal kinda gave them the go-ahead to goof off, due to lack of news items. He says something like that just before the podcast takes a nosedive. IIRC theres nothing worth hearing in the final half hr or so.
