The wife and I were having a bit of a discussion and would like your wisdom regarding one of videogames oddest but most charming conventions.

 

What was the first videogame that featured fruit as pickups?

 

Was it Pacman or was there some other more obscure claimant to that title?

May not be accurate, but a description search at KLOV for fruit gives you this as the first game to have fruit in it:

Well Puckman and Pacman are the same thing, Pacman is the American version of Puckman and the story I heard is that the name was changed due to fears of vandalism on the arcade machines. Just think about it scratch off or cover up part of the P in Puckman and you get #!@#man
