Compact Flash Drive for TI 99/4A available on Ebay

Recommended Posts

There aren't that many useful PEB cards. All you really need is a connector card (obviously), a disk controller card, and a 32K memory card. There's a P-Code card, but that's rare and kind of worthless unless you really like PASCAL and of course the RS-232 card, but that's not all that useful anymore either. I know someone managed to hack the voice module onto a PEB card, but I've never seen one for sale (I'd love to have that one). There are some modern hobbyist cards as well, but I know much about them.

There is.....

1) CC triple tech card that holds real time, speech card, and printer buffer

2) various different size ram disks for instant file loading and saving

3) Hard drive controller cards for MFM, SCSI and IDE

etc, etc....

These are all seen on Ebay from time to time and extremely useful ;-)

WooHoo!! I just got me a CF7+. There are still 3 left as of midnight. Now I'll have the PEB, Cassette and a cf7+ to work with. Hot diggity dog!

Thanks for posting! I have ordered as well.

Finally snagged one. My wife is going to kill me, but I've passed up on these several times now and who knows how many more he'll make?

Is a compatible power supply easy to find or should I pay the $5 and get one from him?

Should be easy to find. I have a huge stockpile of AC adapters - never throw them out. Found some 9V ones from a dead cordless phone that (should) work when I finally get a day to try it out. BTW - I got away from wife trouble on this one. I bought mine on Valentine's Day Eve... She was "what did you just buy?" I was like "don't wanna tell you." She said "Happy Valentine's Day." So, I got what I wanted and didn't get in trouble. Talk about perfect presents!

I am selling 2 of these for the price of 1. See "marketplace" thread.

I hate to see you bailing on the TI, man. Is there anything we could do to help you get things up and running?

Quick question if anyone is still looking at this thread (I didn't want to start a new one). I just ordered the NanoPEB from ebay (which I think is an updated version of cf7+). I used dsk2cf.exe to load Robot Finds Kitten (from http://tigameshelf.net/tibasic.htm) to DSK1 on the 32MB CF card which came with the unit.

Now after I turn the unit on and go into TI Basic, what do I press (Load? Run?) to get this thing going?

oh, don't forget that you might have to do a "CALL MOUNT(1,1)" first.

The format is:

"CALL MOUNT(drivenum,volnum)"

drivenum = 1 .. 3

volnum = 1 .. x

Where x is the maximum number of disk images on your compact flash card.

Note: be sure to checkout TI-99DIR. It's a great tool for preparing/filling your compact flash card.

Can anyone help me procure a CF7+ Slim (or whatever is the latest version - NanoPEB)?

Really want to spend some time with the TI-99/4a again (first Computer we ever owned) but don't think I'll be able to swing a PEB...

Thanks.

This is just a heads up: nanoPEB's are for sale on ebay:

I just bought my first NANOPEB (already have a couple of CF7+ devices) :grin:

Think I'm gonna contact Jaime and ask if he can add SAMS support to the next generation of devices.

EDIT: Done. Let's see what happens ;-)

Jaime replied today: He's already working on SAMS support as well as SD and FAT support.

There's no time-schedule for the next generation of devices though.

So we'll just have to be patient.

Hey, I think that's great news. I'm already very happy with the F18A, so everything besides that is cherry on the cake.
