Anyone know if the PS3 version of Oblivion has trophies?

Been itching to play through that game again (Like I don't have enough lined up to play) , might consider picking up the PS3 version. There's little information when I do a search so I'm assuming "no" but hoping maybe they added them in.

It would be nice if it had but the game is so huge it almost doesnt really matter. I picked up the GOTY edition on the PS3 a few months back for 20 bucks new. Dirt cheap and its the GOTY edition :)

I've been meaning to go back and finish it through on the PS3. I know someday I will. This time around I'm playing a custom but straight mage type character where last time I was a fighter primarily. I also didnt do a lot of the side quests, I still have my character on the 360.

I need to finish it again on the PS3 and do some of the extras on the GOTY edition.

Some of the extras? I don't know what you mean GOTY only added Shivering Isles and a vampire cure glitch, while the vanilla originals already have Oblivion and Knights of the Nine (and a cure for vampirism). Great game though, currently I have a level 29 agent who beat all three main quests and still has a ton of guild quests to do.

Yeah I havent played Shivering Isles or Knights of the Nine at all which is what I mean by extras from the original game. Knights of the Nine is on the original Oblivion? I thought it was a download?

I can understand why they didn't do it with the PS3 version (since they were never released), but why didn't Bethesda include **ALL** of the downloadable extra's on the Game of the Year edition for the Xbox360?

Having Methunes Razor or the Wizard's Tower or any of the other small DLC's adds a lot of fun (plus weapons and spell books) to the game and leaving them out of the GotY Edition really puzzled me.

Yeah PS3's were given Knights of the Nine on both versions. I think once your out of the sewers on the first or second day an event will happen in the town of Anvil that starts KotN. It's almost a mini Zelda-ish quest with lots of unique items.

Gotcha, thanks I had no idea they both had 'the nine on them.

I've really been trying to like Oblivion, but after sinking some 20 hours into it I think I have to give up

It's kinda making me sick - literally. I've been playing it in 3-4 hour sessions during the last couple of days, and while it doesn't give me any heavy motion sickness straight, I tend to feel dizzyness and some kind of sensory overload for the rest of the day, to the point of phases of insomnia at night.

I don't see any graphics options to remedy that and I'm already playing in 3rd person view most of the time.

I had the same problem with:

Star Wars Force Unleashed.

Resistance 1 and 2.

After a while I got used to it a little bit by concentrating on my character more than looking at the environment (when spinning around etc) and in the case of Oblivion switching to 3rd person mode helped a whole lot.

I fear now that Fallout 3 might affect me a lot more, since it's the same engine and don't even offers 3rd person, or?

I've been researching it some and it seems the problem with Oblivion is blamed on two effects: Constant micro-stutter and the very small field of vision of only 75°. If they didn't fix this for Fallout, I probably don't even need to try playing it.

Thats how Lego Harry Potter is for us at home. (I'm not the only one that has a hard time with motion sickness in games in the house...sadly).

I learned that Lego Star Wars (the prequels mostly) and Indiana Jones where the camera is pushed farther back away doesnt cause sickness as much if at all. Moving the camera closer in makes us sick. A good example is when moving around Hogwarts castle in Harry Potter. The camera is a lot closer to the characters and environment which provides more emersion into the "world" but causes a lot more motion sickness for us.

At the very least they could give us options to pull the camera further away or closer. Oh well...it's entirely up to the developers right?

On the 360 version you can switch to 3rd person in Fallout 3 hitting the left bumper I believe. Not sure about the PS3 version.

Ah, cool. Then I might give it a try. I guess my motivation to sit through if I get any problems would also be higher for Fallout :)

It's really weird to see how people seem to react different on all sorts of games. I've been playing Lego Harry Potter (Wii version) without any problems at all. In the end that means I can never rely on other peoples reports, but have to experience every single game on my own and see for myself if it effects me.

Another great thing about modern consoles. The ability to download and play demo's of games before you go out and spend $60.

Well, at least some games anyways.
