+Cafeman
http://cafeman.www9.50megs.com/atari/5200d...offiOrders.html I am mailing out some more today, so you will get yours soon. Yes, they are being mailed out in Serial Number order, which was chosen based on the date I receive your payment. Personal tip to future homebrewers -- programming, manufacturing, handling orders and mailing 100 of anything is TOO MUCH WORK!
deadtech
I got my Koffi the other day. I have been eagerly awaiting this game, and had not tried it out on any emulator. Well, it surpassed my expectations. It took me a while to get the hang of it, but now that I do, it is really great!! I usually don't care if a homebrew has a box or instructions, but the booklet was really well done, I must say. Thank you Cafeman, and I look forward to Adventure II, and any other fun stuff (?) you have in the works. -deadtech

sku_u
Hint: There are two parts of the cloud you acn keep hitting without getting zapped. Find those and you can really speed through the levels.
+Cafeman
Hint: There are two parts of the cloud you acn keep hitting without getting zapped. Find those and you can really speed through the levels. But you won't get a lot of points. Animals, and hefty water/tree bonuses are the way the get high scores. But you are correct -- watching Pyro, you can find safe spots. but when he goes berzerk and moves fast, you gotta watch out.

OldGuru
Got my copy today. Awesome! What else can be said? Great game by Ron (my favorite 5200 homebrew so far). Great box by Geo. Great and professional looking manual. (BTW: What type of printer was used for that purpose?) Overall, Great item to own (#5/100). Thanks Ron! OG. calamari
Also got my copy of Koffi: Yellow Kopter today. Looks nice (label has rounded corners & straight edges). Manual printing is nice. My manual could have had the edges chopped to be even, but a paper cutter will take care of that easily. And speaking of the manual, Kalamari is in there.. That's COOL!!! Haven't played it yet, hopefully I'll get a chance to soon. Great job & thanks, calamari

+-^CrossBow^-
Ron, Just wanted to let you know that Koffi Kopy #7 arrived by hand of the Mailman himself yesterday evening at 6:00PM. From what I have seen so far the cart label is very nice and the manual is pretty much just like an actual Atari manual of the era. Exellent quality. The box is nice and even though the printing on it isn't nearly as rich and deep as the manual and label, there is at least a box!!! Overall I am very pleased with how the whole product looks and am glad to have it in my hands. Ever since you announced that Koffi wouldn't be at this past CGE (Which was the reason for me going I might add), I was bummed and couldn't wait for its completion. Unfortunately I won't get to try Koffi out until I move into my new house, but that is over a month away still. Until then I have the emulation rom to keep me busy and help me bone up my strategies to try out later in the game itself. Ah...and now I see what you meant by some things had to be changed. My fox no longer wears white on the tip of his tail. Dern...that is what made it so cute...guess the white came out looking pink or yellow against the other colors? +Cafeman
"My fox no longer wears white on the tip of his tail. Dern...that is what made it so cute...guess the white came out looking pink or yellow against the other colors? " ==> Yes, he does! IN the game he is exactly as you drew him. I don't have the manual in front of me now, is that where he appears to not have a white tail? If so, I didn't notice. It sounds like you haven't played it yet on the system, but have no fear, fox has his white tail. I am mailing the next 7 out tomorrow FYI. +-^CrossBow^-
Good so the white is there... No I haven't and won't be able to try Koffi out until after I move at the end of this month. My house has been for sale since the middle of October and since then I have had most of the stuff packed up and put away for showing the house. I did break out the cables I needed to test a switchbox I sent to Inky in a trade he and I did...but then I boxed it all back up. In the manual...the fox bears only a red tail so I thought perhaps the white had to be removed due to a problem with color bleed...etc.. Either way, I have my kopy of Koffi and can't wait to get into my new house so that I can test it out!!!

MegaManFan
My copy of Koffi came in the mail today. I have to admit, it's not as easy as I thought it was going to be - it's quite the challenging little game! Very cute, and very fun. Three kudos for Koffi Koffi Koffi! tillenterprises
I just have to add to the kudos for Ron!!! I got my cart yesterday, and was completely impressed with Koffi! Except for the matte appearance of the box, you could easily think that this was released by Atari in 1983! The glossy manual and label look phenomenal- like legitimate Atari releases! The game itself is alot of fun, too! Thanks Ron- put me down for anything else you do!

video game addict
Just wanted to chime in and say THANKS to Cafeman!! I actually got this game last week, but have been too busy with other things to even hook up my 5200, much less play Koffi. But finally tonight, I was able to give it a go, and I must say it is a very Kool little game! The box, manual, & cart label, which has already been mentioned above, look amazing! The manual looks like it could pass for the real deal. Its really stuning! Looks better than any of my 7800 titles, thats for sure. I also noticed the start, pause, & reset buttons were mapped down in the keypad as well. The start buttons on some of my controllers don't work well, so I found this to be a nice touch! Just have to be careful not to reach around and touch #3 while your playing. Just a thought, not directed at anyone in particular, but has there been any plans for creating overlays for some of these future homebrews? Koffi makes use of 6 keys, none are really necessary during play, but with future games possibly even Adventure II depending on gameplay, wouldn't be cool to have an overlay made up for the game as well!! MegaManFan
Koffi makes use of 6 keys, none are really necessary during play, but with future games possibly even Adventure II depending on gameplay, wouldn't be cool to have an overlay made up for the game as well!! That would be a stunning achievment for a homebrew production: a glossy box, a beautiful full color label, a color instruction manual AND keypad overlays for the games. Producing all of these different items and putting them in one box might be cost prohibitive, to say the least - but it would sure bring back the nostalgic feel of the 1980's to see a $50 price tag on a brand new Atari game. :D
+Cafeman
I also noticed the start, pause, & reset buttons were mapped down in the keypad as well. The start buttons on some of my controllers don't work well, so I found this to be a nice touch! Just have to be careful not to reach around and touch #3 while your playing. ===> That is why I mapped the functions -- even a day or two after cleaning them, my Start and Resets and Pause don't work well. but my keypad keys work great, so I mapped Start to #1 and Reset to #3. Koloring Book is mapped to #5 which also pauses the game. ===> I thought about overlays everytime I discarded old Pac-Man ones when making the Koffi Karts. I noticed that Phosphor Dot has a Haunted House overlay picture on his site, that you could use to make your own on your own printer I suppose. But the Koffi project was so much effort that overlays were out of the question. However, I also think it'd be Kool to have overlays made up for future projects, and personally, I'm going to investigate this not only for Adventure II but also my other 5200 game I've been fiddling with for a while. +Cafeman
I might as well mention this too -- I'm currently expecting my 2nd batch of Koffi Boxes from Geo today or tomorrow, and I will start mailing out Koffi's again once I get the boxes. I can't wait to see the Post OFfice lady's expression when I wheel the cart full of Priority Boxes up to her window again.
Nukey Shay
And to think that only a year or so ago he was struggling with getting the keypad coding figured out. Well done! Proof that with a little determination, a lot of sweat, and just a short time spent in a straightjacket...YOU TOO could be programming your very own 5200 cart.
