Atari 2600 colors go funky when you touch a switch..

Picked up a 2600 tonight. I'm satisfied with it, but if you touch any of the switches the color goes bad. I'm testing out a homebrew I am working on that has a blue background. If I touch any of the switches, even lightly, the background goes to blue. By touch I don't mean flip a switch, although that'll do it too. Just touching it will make the color go bad. You can fiddle with it to get color back to normal.

 

Any ideas on what to look for or do?

I would think either a loose grounding point or static strip making contact with something it shouldn't.
