MCHufnagel
Heh, this guy is only the tip of the iceberg. On my local craigslist, it seems every other posting in the video games section are people selling hard drives full of Wii games and offering to mod your system. I don't think I've ever seen anything as blatant as the console piracy I see now. I do find it funny that pc game publishers are threatening to leave pc game development for the "safety" of consoles. I can only guess how bad it will get if digital downloading is the only way to get games. Everyone will have two consoles. One for legit online play and another for hacked servers or offline only play.
godslabrat
I can't say this bothers me in the slightest. As said, it's the most blatant form of piracy there is, and unlike emulation or hacking, doesn't even have the pretense of a legit consumer function. Throw the book at him. If "download only" games do become the wave of the future, I agree with MCHufnagel-- piracy won't stop, the tools will just change.
Warriorisabouttodie
I frequent the forum this guy was on and he was soo stoopid. Not only did he get himself a pre-release copy and dump it, but he took pictures of himself with the reciept and posted them on the board after he uploaded the game. He was practically begging to be caught.
Tempest
What do they mean by he 'hacked into it'? I don't see how getting a pre-release copy of a game and putting the ISO online is hacking. Not that I'm defending what he did, but I don't understand the 'hacking' part of the story. Tempest
