In fact, it would be nice to use Night Rider them at the Title Screen On the other hand, I really want to avoid copyrights and stuff like that
Cebus Capucinis
Haha! We can have Knight Rider for ColecoVision but not for 2600!
retroillucid
The game will use Expansion Module 2 with controller for shifting gear as well as Standard Controller only This will be a 1 player only game High Score Saving feature (if possible)
BrianC
Nitro? Branching paths? A mode with a boss car that you try to bump into? Track Editor? Obstacles like water puddles or oil slicks? An after race shop where you can buy car upgrades? Weather conditions? Selectable cars with their own drivers, including a female driver? youki
Do you plan to use a mega cart? If yes, different environment would be great. Desert, Snow, Canyon, forest etc...

Not sure if it will use the MegaCart yet We would like to include a "Save" feature so progress could be saved I want this game having a "Story Mode" wich you'll progress through alot of environments

Murph74
Reminds me of Chase H.Q.... Loved that game back in the day!
RickO2
Looking good. No "Turbo" game is complete without an ambulance, maybe a hill, hidden turns, and some changing weather.

Bill Loguidice
It looks very, very good. Goodness knows that Dukes of Hazzard - even though it was essentially cockpit perspective and ambitious - didn't do the ColecoVision justice. How flexible is the engine? One thing that is typically missing from this generation of system's racing games (at least with this perspective) is the ability for the car to get airborne, as with jumps and what-not. If it were technologically possible, it would be quite the distinguishing factor. Of course another interesting variation would be to do a Spy Hunter type of deal and create a boat stage. From the looks of the graphics, putting in a slightly different graphics set and a slight modification of the "physics" would allow for fairly convincing boat racing stages. That would be another fairly distinctive game type for that generation of systems.
dano
Being able to shift gears. Maybe something like this- left fire button shifts up and right fire button shifts down. If you are using the steering wheel, pushing up on the joystick shifts up and pushing down shifts down. A choice between manual or automatic. newcoleco
Instead of Knight Rider, what about something smoother like this : CV_OUTRUN_SPLASH_WAVE_DEMO.mp3 It uses 2 of the 3 tone channels, and the noise channel, leaving 1 tone channel for sound effects without perturbing the music. Hi Daniel I like your work with music and melodies for the ColecoVision. But if the car game first is finished in 2012, we have perhaps a whole new CV 2. But of course games can still be made games in "the old way". Once the software is available from the OpCode Games for homebrewers, will it guarantee sounds very good with those new audio chips. Hi J-F I like your work with the graphics in the game. The game is fine, and running on time with various obstacles, I also like you allow use of the Steering wheel in the game. The game is very arcade-like.
newcoleco
In the quotes here, I see a kind of rejection of considering the possibilities of what people already have. Sure you want the best gaming experience, but does that mean to automatically put aside these options already there? And why thinking that 2012 is the end of the world for the good old ColecoVision game system we all enjoyed and already have? Maybe I'm not aware of a sun burst that will burn all the CV systems that exists at that moment. If the idea of a computer or console game is to be played by as many gamers as possible, a good approach is to consider the hardware gamers already have. Some computer games do offer possibilities, playing a racing game with a joystick, keyboard or mouse instead of a steering wheel. And this reality is also present in the Colecovision games library, with a few games offering options between different hardware possibilities to play the game. So, instead of rejecting an option, gaming companies offer choices. My opinion, it's an unwise decision to reject "the old way"... and just because a new way is coming... it looks like a conterjustification for the existence of homebrewers like me who still make games for good old game systems while it's possible to make games for more modern game systems.
