kisrael
Do any of the Atari 2600 emulators let you set up to take a series of screenshots, 1 every X frames? Where X can be "1" I guess, though that would generate a lot of data very quickly...
Albert
I actually submitted a suggestion for Stella to take a snapshot every 'x' seconds, to make it easier to take screenshots for the store, database, etc. http://www.atariage.com/forums/tracker/issue-171-suggestion-timed-screenshots/ ..Al
+FujiSkunk
MAME lets you take MNG movies, and there are tools available that can convert those into a series of PNG images. MESS, which is based on MAME but emulations consoles including the 2600, might have the same functionality. Hm. http://mess.redump.net/mess:drivers:a2600:a2600 -- Mess does Atari in portrait format? Weird.

That's what MESS or any 2600 emulator will look like when the screen is rendered with square pixels, instead of using the proper pixel aspect ratio. Most consoles and computers back then used rectangular pixels, wider than they are tall. Most flavors of MAME and MESS have an option to display games in the proper aspect ratio, but the programs' capturing tools will still use square pixels. Any graphics or image editing program can be used to correct the captured screenshots.
