Modding a Best Electronics CX-40 PCB for CX-10 use

A question that has come up a couple of times here on AA is whether or not you can use a replacement CX-40 PCB from Best Electronics in a CX-10 (the "heavy-sixer joystick). I had a CX-10 that wasn't working properly, so I thought I would give it a try. IT worked, so I typed up the results and posted an article on Classic Gaming Quarterly.

I did a similar mod once, but yours seems to be cleaner and does not involve any modification of the CX-10 itself. I used a hobby saw to cut the corner off of the circuit board and then used a dremel to shave down some of the white plastic tab board so it could sit on the connectors properly. Good job though, I think that next time I come across a CX-10 I'll do it your way. :)

Yup, domes. The PCB on the right side of the first pic in the article is the original board. That being said, it is certainly possible that there were different versions used so your memory may be correct.
