cimerians
http://www.gamenewshq.com/news/504498 Oh yeah...my favorite sequel. It had some nasty monsters, especially the final wacked out level. Also, the first time to get a double barrel shotgun.

Also, the first time to get a double barrel shotgun. Good stuff! Obviously I play Doom all the time and work on Doom source all the time but I did snag Doom on XBLA and played through it on my front projector. It was awesome. I have been waiting for this for quite a while. I look forward to playing over Live. Edited May 24, 2010 by Hyper_Eye
cimerians
Source code? projector?? That is great. I'm going to have to crank up the sound on this one (I got my average 5.1 sound system) Best double barrel shotgun blast I've heard in a game. iswitt
Doom II is an amazing game. This is a sure buy for me. When Doom came out, I was just a youngster, but I played it anyway when my parents weren't around and then had nightmares afterward... Good times. +moycon
I want this also. Sure hope it's 400 points like the first Doom.
Ghost Soldier
It's 800 points but well worth it. I yelled YES when I seen what game was waiting on me in the marketplace today. Already snagged a couple of achievements on it. I'm still awaiting the glorius moment of a new Sonic and Bonk game to pop up in marketplace. cimerians
800... I may still get it....I was hoping that it would be 400 but Doom II is leaps and bounds better than the first Doom IMO.
+moycon
800... I may still get it....I was hoping that it would be 400 but Doom II is leaps and bounds better than the first Doom IMO. The game has a new episode No Rest for the Living with 9 levels and I believe it features co-op (Up to 4 people!) over Live. In addition to 5.1 Surround Sound and of course the Vs. multiplayer (up to 4 people) I figured the extra's were worth the extra cost. Went ahead and snagged it. Pretty fun!! Austin
Regarding price, the original Ultimate DOOM on the 360 also released at 800 points.. If DOOM II is a big enough hit, maybe it will drop to 400 as well. Are these added levels new and exclusive to the 360 port, or does it consist of old PC user-created maps? Hopefully if this one does well enough they will finally consider bringing a respectable port of Final DOOM to consoles..

Doom II is hard but very fun. I don't remember anything about this game so it's like playing again for the first time. (Actually there was a lot had had forgotten in the first Doom) If anyone sees me online and wants to try it co-op, let me know. Hopefully I won't be too ripped to play, that happens a lot on the week-ends!!
cimerians
Got it. Yeah its worth it and yes its pretty damn hard compared to the first. There's an achievment that says beat a Cyberdemon with your fists. I think I may have actually done that in God mode way back on the PC version. I'm going to try for that one snagging an invincibility orb and wailing on the Cyberdemon on the easy setting. There is a room on Level 8: Tricks and Traps, where I think this can be done. I'm going to grab the orb and make a bee line for the Cyberdemon who is in the back of the room surrounded by a bunch of Baron of hell

On harder settings you would never get through the Barons in time to land the final blow. There is a BFG in that level you can easily get before the cyber. Hit him with a couple of direct shots from the bfg and then finish him with the punch.
cimerians
So you can soften him up and kill him with one punch to get it? That would be easier I think. I don't know how long the orb lasts and how much measly damage punches do against a Cyberdemon. Its always a laugh to try. Damn..I cant play tonight cause I got things to do with the kid and tomorrow are the Blackhawks.
+moycon
I got the You Have Huge Guts achievement on the Refueling Base level and amazingly on the Ultra Violent setting. There is a Cyberdemon by himself near an invincibility orb and power cells towards the end of the level. (Upstairs behind the exit) I simply got the orb and the cells. Hit him square on with 4 shots of the BFG and then switched to the knuckles and hit him. I actually thought I was a goner when I got it. My orb had already worn off and the screen went completely red from a blast right before it popped. I must have hit him as he hit me. MagitekAngel
I got You Have Huge Guts on Ultraviolence level 8, Ticks and Traps, or whatever. Cyberdemon is in a room full of Barons of Hell. Started a monster fight to clear the barons out, wore the Cyberdemon down with rockets, then grabbed the invincibility orb and hammered away with the fists. Took several tries - his damn rockets keep most of my punches from hitting. But I got it after not too long. I ought not have paid 800 points for this, what with already having the game on Dosbox, but alas, I couldn't help myself. I also have Doom 1, Duke Nukem, and Wolfenstein 3D on my XBLA account. Pattern? Edited June 4, 2010 by MagitekAngel

zombiecraig
I would still like to have the original Quake on Live, too.
Austin
I would still like to have the original Quake on Live, too. Now that the Doom games are out of the way (for the most part), they may think about Quake down the road.. I know that Carmack has said he would like to do it on the iPhone, anyway. Isn't Quake Live (Quake III) still planned for XBLA? Haven't heard much about that in a while, actually.. If XBOX originals are still available in the marketplace, then yes, it should be for sale in there (I'm pretty sure that was one of the available ones a year or two ago, anyway).
