IntellivisionDude
My copy of Commando for the Nes freezes just a few seconds into the game. And this is the second copy i have purchased and they both freeze around the same area. Just wondering if there is any known problems with this game? I do have a new 72 pin connector and all my other games work fine. I don't get the flashing light or anything like that. The game just freezes. StanJr
have not heard of or encountered this. What part of the game does this occur at, I will see if I can replicate.
Crazy Climber
Commando is one of my favorite NES games and I have played the shit out of it. I have had that game freeze on me more times than I can count. I don't recall if it was in the same spot or not but it has froze on me numerous times, grrrr
jeremysart
Yikes, sorry to hear. Commando is NOT a game you want freezing on you If it keeps happening, you can always play the Intellivision port

It occurs right at the beginning of the game. Barely 5-10 seconds into it.
eightbit
If you have two separate copies and both freeze at the same point I am more inclined to believe that there is an issue with the console and not the cartridges. The game never had a freezing issue like the one you describe....I've played in hundreds of times. Even tho your NES is working with other games, maybe it has a problem with a specific mapper being used in Commando? I'd test it on another NES if possible to rule out a defect in your console.
NightSprinter
It is possible bit-rot might be setting in, so that could confirm what others are saying.

envytomdead2
I have had this issue with two separate copies. I have tested on an original NES and a Retro bit RES. For me the freezing is random.
Lord Thag
Yeah, this game is glitchy. I've had many freezes over the years. It's why I play the 7800 or Atari 8-bit ports.
envytomdead2
Yeah I can't play one full game with out it freezing. I guess ill stick with the 7800 version and have guerilla war fill my run and gun on the nes.
