Madaracs
I have a couple of newbie questions: 1. Is there a place where we can see the upcoming HSC game so we can purchase it before the contest begins? 2. Is there a thread where I can post questions about such things in the future? Your help is appreciated!
Austin
It depends on the HSC. Some games are picked out of a magic hat, others are voted on. See the mods or rules for the specific HSCs you want to compete in.
cparsley
Most do not due to the fact they do not want people to play/practice ahead of time, giving some an unfair advantage.
zylon
The only hint I offer in the 5200 HSC is the round poll, which is open for 1 week. It always has 5 games in it. One of the 5 always wins.
Austin
Most do not due to the fact they do not want people to play/practice ahead of time, giving some an unfair advantage. I think that displaying a schedule of the games being played can potentially even the playing field. In situations where they are not divulged beforehand, players that are not familiar with them get dominated by the players who already know them like the back of their hand. cparsley
With my HSC (Intellivison), there's only a limited set of titles that were released for the console so it's not a problem... It could be said for a more spread out console like the VCS, but I still like the original setup of the HSCs, as to not allow practice ahead of time to leave everyone on the same starting point.
