Awwwwwwwwwwwww

Q: I live close enough to come pick the item up in person. What would you sell it for if I could come get it and pay cash? Aug-17-10

A: Hello and thank you for your inquiry. This auction is being held as a way to help promote the sale of this cart on Atariage.com, so ending the auction early would defeat that purpose. To answer your question, I will offer local pickup which will save you the extra $5 on shipping. For those not bidding, please go to Atariage.com and sign up on the waiting list for a brand new version of the game. Thanks again!

How nice of him to to promote AA while selling a $20 game for the highest profit possible. Selling it at a Buy It Now price of $20 would have been just too short of a promotion period. I wonder if the person who wins his auction will end up being the person who would have bought that very same game from AA had he not purchased it for resale. Oh well, at least he was polite in response to someone.

IMO the seller can do whatever he wants with his 2 copies he bought. From the moral point of view shadowdoggie made the mistake to advertise

his auction here and calling you a newb.

But that picking on him aren´t pleasing manners as well............... ;)

Maybe I should put my CGE copy up for auction, after all, it doesn't have a box? :ponder: :x

Well, that and I bought 3 copies of it. :P <- Only and hand full of people will get that one. ;)

I have a CB game missing only the manual........................... :P

I'm happy with my Gray Label version, but I wish I could have bought one of the Black Label copies at CGE.

BTW, does anyone know how many of the Gray Label carts will be made? I hear there were 130 of the Black Label carts made, but I'd like to know the total of Gray Labels there will be just because I like to keep track of the rarity of my collectibles.

So... when can I order?

Send me an email to sales@atariage.com and I'll add you to the waiting list. I did send emails to over half the people on the waiting list last week, although not everyone responded that they wanted a cart. :ponder: Next week I'll be able to offer more up for sale.

Okay, I did that a few weeks ago, I guess I just wasn't on the first round. I'll wait my turn on the list. :)

Can I prepay?

No, not accepting pre-payments as I prefer to have the cartridges built and in-hand before taking monies. :) Everyone who is on the waiting list and still wants a cartridge when I produce them will be able to get one.

Halo 2600 is not a collectible, it's a game, released in 2010.

Bingo.

What if we took the Halo 2600 cart and stored it inside a replica Master Chief helmet and added a bonus dvd of the game being created and stuffed it inside of an oversized box that would have no place amongst my current atari 2600 collection?

Would it be collectible then?

Halo 2600 is not a collectible, it's a game, released in 2010.

It's both. As a 30 year old gamer and die hard Halo fan I have a huge amount of nostalgia for Atari and a love for Halo. To me, Halo 2600 is a great game that I enjoy playing AND it is a fascinating piece in both my Atari collection and Halo collection.

A person can be a gamer and a collector. Halo 2600 can be both a collector's piece as well as a game released in 2010. These things are not mutually exclusive.

Perhaps "collectible" was the wrong word to use, but I assure you I'm not the only one that was just as excited to add Halo 2600 to my collection as I was to play it in my heavy sixer.

lol, I'd love to see your friend's face when you hand over his copy.

At this time I am no longer taking payments for Halo 2600. However, send an email to sales@atariage.com and I will add you to the waiting list and will email you as carts become available, in the order I receive requests.

Some additional information:

If you'd like a copy of Halo 2600 in cartridge form, I am going to make some number available to forum members who weren't able to attend CGE.

This new batch of cartridges will have a different label in order to differentiate them from the carts sold at CGE. My plan is to ship any carts that are paid for by the end of the weekend sometime next week. You will receive tracking information (for Priority Mail) once your package has shipped.

A PAL version is presently being worked on. Once it's completed, I'll update this thread. If you're in Europe or Australia (or other PAL regions) and want a PAL version, please hold off on sending a payment until it's ready.

how do you send a payment when it becomes availible?

Hi Al,

Just wanted to let you know that I received my copy of Halo 2600 in the mail late last week. Got out the old Atari and plugged in the cart and it works great. So much fun and thanks to Ed Fries for dreaming up this little gem of a game.

Thanks

How much longer is the wait for the official release of anyone making a Halo 2600 Box? or Manual?

I didn't hear of any official box or manual for it ever. I plan on doing a DIY job for it using a plastic Genny case (unless one really does come out, but I still might make my own that way).

damn i LOVE this game. i wish i could justify buying this game will have to add it to xmas wish list. any way to get an email sent to my wife say something to the point 'halo 2600 is in stock buy it for xmas NOW!'when it is in stock?
