It makes me wonder what other hidden point bonus tricks Phoenix has that we don't know about yet. I couldn't playback the input. There's another trick called "the suicide trick" but I don't know anything about it. 2 of the small birds crashed into me. I didn't press the fire button at all on level 2. I did this by accident. Seems like the kind of thing that isn't intended to happen, and it was mentioned that doing the trick again on level 7 would reduce your points back to 200k and that really makes it seem like a glitch and not a bonus. Just saying... and it surely isn't in the spirit of the game, and I thought that mattered here more then just getting the top score by any means. I see this as the same kind of thing as turning the speed up on Pac Man. Doing the three bird trick is accepted be Twin Galaxies, CAGDC, Aurcade and MARP. Because of that, I am permitting the trick so players can practice and perform these at any tournaments and/or for submissions to scorekeepers. Additionally, it is not an easy trick to perform which sets it worlds apart than enabling the speedup cheat in Pac-Man. Nevertheless, I do see where you are coming and I really can't tell you if it is a glitch or a bonus similar to warping in Crystal Castles. It is painfully slow and hard to believe we thought it was fun BITD... Space Firebird: 6,390 I bumped up my score on the Twin Galaxies scoreboard but I have no idea if I bumped up my position since their WWW server is referencing a private IP address to retrieve the database info. I am currently in 4th with that score of 5,880. Not to put any pressure on roadrunner, but it would be sweet if he broke the record on Defender since he is so close. A lot of players are within striking distance of leapfrogging positions and if successful can shake up the overall tournament standings. Players that have not played all the games in the tourney as well as players entering the tourney in the 11th hour can also effect the outcome. I plan on getting some more gaming in today since I took Saturday off. Good luck and I hope you've had fun with another great AA Arcade/MAME HSC tourney. I knew about most of the games but never really played them a lot. Now I have to put a track ball on my MAME cabinet to play centiped Crazy Climber is quite fun ... when you have 2 joystick. I will read more about pacman to learn more tricks and maybe some day have a perfect game ... right!!! I did not know that Berzerk was so hard to play. Chucky Cheese, fun game. I first played that one at fun spot tourney last June. I'm still far from the scores that were done then. All the vertical shooters ... I never was good as those games but I had a lot of fun with Phoenix, I will probably try the 200k and 100k "bonus" trick later. Thankyou all for participating. Our next tournament will be the Halloween tourney with the theme "Bugs" - games containing insects. And because Halloween is an evil holiday, these two games will be included: Satan's Hollow Satan of Saturn A new thread will be posted soon for your game nominations.
