Deteacher
Who has the definitive fix for Paddle jitter? A lot of people take the control knob off and spray contact cleaner into the paddle's pot. I disassemble the entire paddle assembly and clean all the old grease and gunk off the dial switch with a simple piece of tissue. Reassemble and they work like a charm. I'm about to do that with a set of paddles today. Maybe I'll document my process and post it in the forums (if someone hasn't done it already.) EDIT: After a quick search, I see that our friend, Longhorn Engineer, has already done so. Here's a link: http://www.longhornengineer.com/Fixataricontrollers/2600paddle I recommend this approach, as it is the most thorough cleaning you can get. Yes, it involves a lot more disassembly, but I think this method garners the best (and longest lasting) results. Deteacher
I decided to get away from my emu and play these on some real hardware. Here are my scores: Atlantis: Rolled it! (notice the '1' in the ones column.) Astroblast: 5,475! (Man, no rest for the weary on this one, huh?) Kaboom!: 3,748! (Was never very good at this one.) Squeeze Box: 10,740! (I've always liked this game.) Edited September 3, 2010 by Deteacher
Deteacher
Ok, the Squeeze Box manual states that if you clear all the bricks and leave, you get an extra star (max. of 3.) I've left the room many times with no bricks on the screen and I've never gotten an extra man before. Has anyone ever scored the extra life? Does the manual mean there are a set number of bricks that come out, then they eventually stop? Ideas? Thoughts?
