Over the weekend just gone (11th/12th) it was Play Expo, which I attended on Saturday as part of the Oldschool Gaming stand. The game demoed this time around was Apple Snaffle (previously I've demoed Rocketeer and Next Street at Play). I learnt a few things from last years show, where people struggled with the controllers, so I wanted a game that would just start and didn't use any side buttons.

A few pics of the game in action :-

I definitely need to make a controller usage standee because some people were holding it like a NES stick (which was the same problem as last year). It was good to see people having fun on the game. Plenty of people restarted the level to have "one more go" when their avatar died - which is a good sign ;).

Some of the youngsters really gave the Inty a "WTF is that!" look and avoided it like the plague . Obviously, they don't love faux woodgrain, the heathens!

You can see the game running on a Bee3 in this video from about 1:10 :-

The show attendance was better than last year. I don't have any figures for the show yet, but last year there were more than 8000 people through the doors on Saturday alone!

All in all, a very enjoyable Saturday :D.
