I loved the reboot of Pac-Man on Live Arcade.

This one sounds like it'll be even funner!!

Your aggressors will accumulate until you have a long conga line of ghosts trailing behind Pac-Man. Then, when you eat a Power Pellet, you can chomp through the entire line at once."

 

I think this feature sounds fun...

 

"Fun bonus options are being added like the ability to choose sprites from all of Pac-Man's various games and looks. Want to play as the 3D Pac-Man from Pac-Mania? You can do that."

 

Hopefully it'll be 800 points.

I LOVED Pac-Man CE. It was the first game that I got 100% Gamer points on.

I really don't remember but wasn't that before the introduction of the $15 price tag for "premier" games? Remember everybody defending it saying it was a fair price for the better types of games? Well looky what we have now

 

But that being said, I'd love to be proven wrong. Because I'm with you that if it's 800 I'm buying it right away.

That great news! The original Championship edition was never on the PSN, which is sad cause I absolutely would've purchased it... It seemed like it was Pac-man spliced with Tempest 2000, with those awesome graphics and the techno music. Which is just epic.

I have an expensive fight stick and it's not much better due to the 8 way controls. Pac-Man really needs a 4 way stick.

 

Now Namco has an excuse to release a totally "new" version and call it Namco Museum: Virtual Arcade 2 but the only difference is it will have Pac-Man CE DX added to it.

Strangely enough it plays pretty well with the 360 analog stick. Much better than the XBLA version of the original Pac-Man.

Hmmm ... maybe, but once things start getting a bit hectic any tight control you have over Pac-Man goes out of the window. Every game, you can guarantee that I'll lose a few lives later on because the damned thing didn't do what I was telling it to do.

 

Still a great game, though. Still give it a run-out once in a while.

Pac-Man in any incarnation similar to the original arcade game just doesn't feel right without a knob-topped control stick.

Well apparently you can change the x-arcade into a 4-way joystick mode, but to get it hooked to the 360 you have to do some crazy way with a PS2 adaptor, a wired 360 controller, and some other crap, http://www.xgaming.com/store/x-arcade-adapters/product/x-arcade-xbox-360-adapter/

 

So I imagine if you're really dedicated and do all that, you could have some decent control for Pacman.

The moment I had unboxed my Xbox Arcade and loaded Pac Man CE, I thought that just this single little game more than justified my purchase. THe colors, the sounds, the anmiations, the gameplay. Everything seemed great less the controls if you don't own an arcade stick. And, it was one of the best exclusives I've played for the Xbox back then.

 

 

Looking forward to DX, but hopefully it won't be an exclusive for Xbox for long. Would like to see it on PSP. Well, CE at least is coming to the PSP and that will be the perfect gaming system to play it on.

The article says it will be released on Xbox Live as well as PSN this fall:

 

Pac-Man Championship Edition DX is set for release on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this fall. We're definitely looking forward to it.

This game got a 10 on IGN, I'll be getting it for sure. Looks fun. Maybe even funner than the first!

It's definitely better than the first one. It's got more modes and tons of customizations. You can actually customize which Pac-Man graphics variants from throughout the years to use each time you play. You can also change the sounds as well.

Great game. It captures and concentrates the rush of grouping ghosts into a bunch and chomping them in rapid succession. Pac-Man isn't a hunter in this game. In this one, he's a vengeful god who can only be appeased by endless offerings of sweet ghost flesh! He is the scythe and the ghosts are but wheat to be cut down in his wrath!
