Tr3vor
I don't have any underrated game in my mind, just curious of what you all will say.
The_Laird
Missile Command 3D on the Jaguar. Not only jawdropping technically but one of the best games ever for me, especially with the orginal there too.
Reaperman
I'd say Dreamweb. It didn't do at all well critically, but I've never seen another game like it. It's a point and click adventure set in the dystopian future, where you jump into the role of a mentally ill serial killer as he murders seven public figures. High difficulty/frustration curve, but the atmosphere is really well done. Long bouts of depression followed by a few seconds of the old ultra-violence. It sure changed the way I look at the world. Most video games really cheapen life in general, and especially the act of murder--Dreamweb does not. GKC
Missile Command 3D on the Jaguar. Not only jawdropping technically but one of the best games ever for me, especially with the orginal there too. My copy is currently in the mail. I am really looking forward to this game. Not just for the updated version of missile command but also for the classic version that is included. Anyways my most underrated game is Atari Karts. I am not saying that it is the greatest game in the world but it is a solid Kart racer. It gets a lot of flack and seems to get very little love. Classic Pac
Q Bert on the PS1 It maybe just Q Bert but I love how you finish one puzzle more of the game opens for you.
tz101
Rolling Thunder on NES. Heart-pounding spy action that can't be beat. Yet, nobody ever rates it even in their top 10 for that system. Go figure...
mbd30
Rolling Thunder on NES. Heart-pounding spy action that can't be beat. Yet, nobody ever rates it even in their top 10 for that system. Go figure... Good arcade port. But also really, really hard IIRC. Has anyone tried the sequel for the Genesis?
Video
Warlocked for the Gameboy Color. This one had the bad timing going for it, being released in the high point of Pokemon games (there's an overrated game for you) and also at the end of the GBC's life. It's a great RTS game, and technically amazing considering this is an 8 bit handheld pushing the game. Almost nobody bought the thing, and I got several copies when Toys RUs was blowing them out at like $1 each.... To bad it failed so hard, I wanted to see a GBA revamp of it. If you like RTS games, give this one a try, it's got great visuals, awesome sound/music, great controls (which people still say an RTS can't be done on a console) and the wizards add a little bit to the mix. Drixxel
Pac-Man 2: The New Adventures. That it is overlooked is understandable - I mean, it's not a game design that lends itself to universal appeal, being indirectly controlled and slowly paced, and it's a thoroughly unexpected direction to take Pac-Man in. However, I think it's unique and hugely entertaining.

It also has as unlockables, Pac-man, and Ms Pac-man (PCMND MSPCMND, I think, though I may have remembered those passwords wrong) Edited November 5, 2010 by Video
Cynicaster
Xevious (Atari 7800). Still my favorite version of the game, and the only shooter I've ever really enjoyed. Klax (Arcade, Lynx). Easily my favorite puzzler. The only one to ride the Tetris wave and actually out-do it, IMO. The arcade version is the gold standard, but the Lynx version is an outstanding port, looks great even today. Cobra Triangle (NES). This game seemed to fly below the radar, and I could never understand why. Great graphics, reasonable difficulty (not too hard, not too easy), lots of gameplay variety based on the changing objectives from level to level, cool power ups, etc. It's all here. Twisted Metal 2 (PS1). Ludicrous in concept, but a total blast to play. Sadly, the only game in the series that I ever thought was any good. lastkill3r
Qix- My favorite puzzle game. Q*Bert- All Q*Bert games. I think he's better than that pathetic Pac-Man, who says "look i don't swear i'm cool! Yeah, but instead of swearing, he f**ks Ms. Pac-Man and make tons of Jr. Pac-Mans! Chuck D. Head
Here is a few to start: Solar Jetman - NES - There's a whole lot to this game and it keeps me coming back for more. Still pissed that Scott from RetroGamingRoundup called it "shovelware" Diddy Kong Racing - N64 - I keeping hearing people say things like "it's a poor man's Mario Kart", but there is so much more to do in this game than MK and also, it has reasonable AI. The races are very challenging and fun. DecapAttack - Genesis - Just a lot of fun. Great controls, gameplay and sounds. Also the only game that lets you control Chuck D. Head and, well, chuck his head at enemies. I'm sure I will think of more...... Morgan
Desfeek
Popful Mail for Sega CD. People love Working Designs games, but this is easily the most forgotten. Absolutely the best game I've ever played.
MagitekAngel
Some things to discuss: -Diddy Kong Racing kicks Mario Kart 64's ass. -Decap Attack is hard as hell, but really fun. -The Q*Bert game on PSX/DC/PC is my favourite entry from that late 90's period of neo-classic remakes (Frogger, Pac-Man, Asteroids, Space Invaders, etc) Now for my addition: MDK2. Go play this game. It is awesome.

TheGameCollector
I will have to go with Beyond The Beyond for Playstation. The official Playstation magazine rated it badly when it came out but I find it one of the most addicting RPGs to play. Its 2D graphics are smooth for its time and the active battle system where you have to mash buttons to get critical hits makes it a lot more fun to grind than in previous RPGs such as Dragon Warrior. When compared to other RPG franchises I would say Dragon Warrior is the one that this most resembles. The story might not have a whole lot of depth but that is another thing that makes it similar to that series. Having to explore some places on your own makes it interesting and the challenging puzzles really make you think. That said, I beat the game 10 times and am currently working on my 11th go at the US version, this time as an eboot on my modded PSP. And simultaneously, I am working on my first playthrough of the Japanese version on my original Playstation using a swap disc: PS-X-Change 2 even though I don't know how to read any Japanese. So in other words, I think I know enough about how this game goes that I can do a blind playthrough without reading the text.
Chuck D. Head
Here's one for ya: ExciteBots for the Wii. It looked for all the world like shovelware, I am sure, but I really had fun with Excite Truck so I gave it a try. It was sooo much more than Excite Truck. Super fun and a lot of things to discover. Add to that an online experience that is much more fun than Mario Kart Wii. It's a blast and you can find it for $10 all over the place. Give it a go! Ryanw
Totally agree with Diddy Kong Racing! There seemed to be so much to do in that game and looking back it surpassed MK64 in every aspect. In fact, I thought the Icicle Pyramid battle game was better than the 4 player battle mode on MK64 even though it was the only battle map (that I remember anyway). Chuck D. Head
MDK2. Go play this game. It is awesome. Wow, I never knew about this game - looks pretty cool! It looks like it will be released on WiiWare soon. Myself, I think I will keep an eye out for the dreamcast version. Morgan

Rikkarr
I like Granada on the Genesis/MD quite a bit. It's like a top-down shooter but you can move anywhere. Also you're in a tank, which is pretty cool Also Gaiares (same system) seems to be kind of forgotten, but it's a lot of fun too (also insanely hard, to me at least). I like the music quite a bit in both games!
