For one brief moment in time, Curious Sofa was atop the Robotron list!

729,975

And now I eagerly await Mord to post a picture of his latest score, mimicking mine but with an extra digit on the end, somewhere in the 7 mil region. :P

Fine fine, let me go read the manual.

Eventuality we'll play a game that Mord's not too good at. lol

I can't say I'm too fond of the controls on this one. Not too many games force you to charge running into a sea of murderous robots in order to shoot back. :ponder:

316,200 for now. :)

I can imagine the arcade's dual-stick controls are a hell of a lot easier on this one. Eesh. And even with THAT I do miserably (got a dual stick joypad, real good for arcade Robotron xD). Like on the order of 35K... I guess this is why I just watch (though I was playing MSX Galaga while Mord crushed everyone on 7800 Galaga...and when I got a 6-digit score in MSX Galaga I tried the 7800 version and got myself handed to me on a plate. >_>)

Not a bad first attempt. As you can see from the level counter, I could have done a lot better by that level, and I certainly could have made it a lot deeper into the game. Oh well, tonight probably.

First attempt - 195475. You can see my two joystick setup. May try emulator next because I have a better dual joystick setup on my PC. Also note that I have this setup in my kitchen... that's what kitchens are for, I think.

1,145,800

Edit: That wave counter is clearly not correct, btw. I take the photo after a minute or so to get my camera, etc. and it's on the attract screen. I think I was on wave 39 or so.

988,275. :)

I've increased my average game score to the 800k range. I just start dying quickly and pointlessly around there. There's also some weird glitch I keep getting hit with now and then where I end up not being able to fire. :ponder:

post-4460-128998024561_thumb.png

I've discovered the likely cause of the little no firing glitch I kept hitting before. Shows up when I'm playing two-stick style on the emulator. Pressing in opposite directions for the firing causes it. IE: pressing up and down at the same time, or left and right. On real hardware using real sticks that would be pretty much impossible to do so I guess it wasn't programmed with it in mind.

With this I'll attempt some more robotron by the weekend. Right now I'm kindawatchingalotofminecraftletsplaysonyoutube. :ponder:

2,075,000

Would've done better if I hadn't gotten a phone call and had to scramble for the pause button, but I'm still excited to have crossed 2 mil.

(edited 'cause AGAIN I forgot to hit "Attach This File" on the photo)
