Snider-man
DAY 4 PRIZE: Today's prize is "The Atari FIRE! Package"consisting of Towering Inferno and Fire Fighter! Today's contest: To be a fireman, you have to be fast, and you have to be clever. So we'll test both of those qualities with today's game. Below is a word search asking you to locate 10 "fire-related" words within the grid. Well, I hid an *11th* fire-related word within the grid. The first person to find that 11th word and post it in this thread will win the two carts. CLUE: The hidden word is longer than any of the other words in the word list. Here are some rules clarifications: 1. Your entry should be just ONE WORD., and you may only post your guess once. More than one post and you shall be disqualified. 2. Again, you may not edit your message. If your entry is corrected or edited after you've posted it, it shall be voided. (That way, someone won't immediately post some gibberish, go research, then come back and correct it - effectively making them "first.") (In case anyone needs a reminder of the rules, go here. There's the alarm bell! Good luck!

Snider-man
There have been no correct answers yet. (And are any of these actually words?) Second CLUE: The hidden word is 9 letters long. Yes, NINE letters. Previous guessers are allowed to post another answer. Good luck.

Snider-man
Congratulations to Happy Dude who was the first to post the 11th hidden word: IGNITABLE. How was this solved? Simple... First, you had to find the 10 words on the Word List and mark them in some way (so you knew they were used). Once that was done, the nine uncircled letters left over spelled out the hidden word, when read letter-by-letter from left to right. Here's a visual: At no time did I say that word was hidden like all the others! If Happy Dude will PM me his address, I will get his prize in the mail. Keep in mind that - if you win any prize - you are now ineligible for further contests with the exception of the Day 12 Giveaway. Congrats once again! When we play tomorrow, here's the prize up for grabs: Zounds! It's a years’ subscription to the “2600 Connection” newsletter and an Atari wall clock! See you then! Snider-man
From the rules: "Each day’s contest will be posted at a random time that day. I will attempt to “mix it up a bit” with some morning-posted contests and some evening-posted contests." AND "I will be running these giveaways at a time convenient for me." In other words, it's only Day 4 out of 12. Settle down, I'm certain you'll see one you can participate in. And, if not, it's still in good fun, eh?
