Shipping from Australia to U.S.

I was just curious about what I would expect to pay for shipping something from Australia to the U.S. Am I right in assuming it would cost at least $15 (U.S) just to have one cart shipped to me? Would there be any extra import duties, taxes, fees, etc. associated with this? Thanks.

My gf just bought a cd on ebay and its getting shipped from australia to canada. The seller is charging her 5$ US for shipping.

I think that is a little expensive, but for AIR MAIL it may be close. Find out if you are paying actual charges or if the seller is adding a handling fee. Surface shipping will cost much less but can take months! AIR MAIL should take about 1 week. I don't think you'll be on the hook for any additional charges like duties or taxes. I've never had any issues with a few imports to the US that I have received.

I did won bid two carts at seller's auction from Australia, so seller charge me $5.00 US "air mail" to Canada. In my opitions what you explain about shipping cost $15.00 is too high and sound like rip-off.

I haven't bought anything yet. I was just trying to figure out about what it might be. I must have screwed up when I was trying to calculate it at Australia's post office site. I don't have any experience with shipping internationally so I'm a little in the dark. Thanks.

Here is a perfect example, I got a boxed 2600 game from Australia, it was shipped on 11/29 and arrived today (12/04) and it cost AU$7.00 to ship. Hope that helps.

I charge $5 US shipping for items of that size to the US from Australia. That covers the postage cost and leaves enough to cover the cost of packaging materials and possible variances in the Aus -> US dollar exchange rate.

For a single cart, CPUWIZ'z amount is about right. I posted an entire new boxed N64 to the US for A$50 (~US$26.50).

It Cost Me $AU26.00 ($US14.00)To send 3 Boxed Oddysey 2 Games to Sweeden. But For an atari cart, It should be the same as A Medium sized box of lego, which is about $8AU ($4.25US).
