Would be great for a MAME machine.Game plays blind, complete black screen, audio works. Monitor PCB has clicking sound, which indicates it's in over current protection mode. I replaced the 2 large capacitors (which were buldging) as well as the High Output Transistor. As soon as I powered it on, it blew the HOT again and shot a spark from the Flyback Transformer. I have 4 spare HOT's that I'll include. I'm guessing the Flyback Transformer is bad, but I'm only an amateur and don't want to invest anymore. Besides, we really don't have room for this monstrosity!We picked this up off the side of the road, cosmetically it looks okay, could use a cleaning. It's complete with power supply, game PCB and manuals. The gun has some light damage near the trigger, and I was unable to test if it works. It's been very well kept... so well that it didn't start having laser issues until well after Sony stopped doing the repair for free. He chose to switch to a slim model rather than have this one repaired, and it's been sitting in a box ever since. I did a test run with it earlier this afternoon- no controller issues, no memory card issues. As for discs- it doesn't run blue discs anymore (straight to DRE every time.) Sliver discs take a bit longer for initial load-up than my unit (don't know if that's a laser thing or an early unit thing), but run fine otherwise. The console is cosmetically excellent, unless you really hate Rurouni Kenshin It's a vinyl skin, it should be removeable if you so choose. You will receive the console, composite A/V cable, and power cable. No controller sadly, but you will get everyone's favorite useless accessory- the PS2 horizontal stand!
