MaxSpeed
I sold "maybe" a Vader on eBay and advised that Paypal was the form of payment accepted, but have not been paid yet. How long do you advise I wait before leving negative feedback and relisting the item ? Maybe I am just a litttle impatient as I always pay withing minutes of winning an auction. smile_walle
Yeah, I understand what you mean. According to my auction, my statement saying "Please must receive the payment within 10 days, but if you dont make the payment more than 10 days, then I will post negtive feedback and report to Ebay." Also, if bidder failed to pay to you, you can offer "second chance" to next winning bidder, if not then, you would have to "re-list" I know how you feel right? However, each sellers are different, some sellers require 7 days, some others require 3 days, so mean vary. Jason
Albert
Yeah, I understand what you mean. According to my auction, my statement saying "Please must receive the payment within 10 days, but if you dont make the payment more than 10 days, then I will post negtive feedback and report to Ebay." I would change this to, Payment must be received within 10 days. If payment is not received within 10 days, then I will leave negative feedback and report you to eBay as a Non-Paying Bidder. This is a bit clearer. ..Al

holygrailvideogames.com
I have actually had people pay 14-21 days after the auction has ended. I rarely will wait this long though. Usually if they don't pay within 10 days you will not see the money. I usually will take into account past feedback. If someone has 25+ feedback and have a reputation for paying I will be more patient that with someone who has a feedback rating of 0-5. I would say that depends on the kind of communication between you and the buyer. I had a guy from Holland who won a boxed Vectrex game from me and he immediately emailed me to tell me that his PayPal account isn't properly setup yet and if I could wait until it is. He was very polite and I said: "Sure I can wait, I don't do this for a living." ! He paid me yesterday in full via PayPal, which was about 3 weeks after the auction. It's possible that the buyer sent a paypal payment, but perhaps he made an error in the email address he put for you and it "got lost". I had a buyer who had trouble with the underscore in my email address, so they made a payment to an invalid email address. Naturally they never checked the status of that payment on the paypal account summary screen, so we had some trouble between us trying to figure out what happened. I now ALWAYS ask buyers to reply to my last email as soon as they make a paypal payment so we can avoid problems like this in the future. Buyers don't realize that if they make payment to an email address that is invalid or incorrect, you ( the intended recipient) will not be notified and you'll have no idea they tried to pay. I also ask people to notify me after they send out their money order "so I can get your package ready for immediate shipment". It a nice way of getting them to give me information without sounding too harsh.
CPUWIZ
Being paid to the wrong email address used to happen to me all the time, it is very possible. In my case it is easy to spot because I have my own domain and actually get the notification even if it is the wrong email address.
Cap5750
I agree with what others have said here in that you should maybe contact the person and find out what is going on. For example, whenever I win an auction, I immediately tell the seller how I'm going to pay, when I'm going to pay and I let them know that I'll contact them again after sending out the payment. Once I send out the payment, I e-mail them again and tell them to expect payment within 'X' days depending on where they live. From there, the ball is then in the sellers court. That is, I wait to hear from them that they've shipped my item. If I don't hear from them (or just receive it within 10 days or so), I send them a little note asking if they have received my payment or if they've shipped my item. As I said in another thread, I had a money order get lost or something for nearly a month to a seller. He probably thought I was a deadbeat and I thought he was a guy taking my money and running. But then, last week, he finally got it and saw the 11-08 postmark. Cap
Inky
One time I had bid on an auction, and I emailed the guy and said I wouldn't have the money because of an emergency that had come up. The guy was patient with me and let me have more time to pay. I did get the money to pay him and he left me feedback saying I was "VERY HONEST"
sku_u
Since you didn't specify the time frame you expected payment by in the auction, you should send the person a polite email first and wait 3-5 days for a response. If there is no response, send a non-paying bidder notice. I wouldn't leave negative feedback without trying to resolve the issue with the buyer first. I once had a buyer who didn't even know he won the auction. This was back in the days when bids could be retracted in the last few hours of the auction, so he assumed he lost when he was outbid. The email he had linked to ebay wasn't the email account he checked regularly. After sending him several emails, we were able to resolve the issue and positive feedback was left on both ends. Callipygous
Agree with sku_u. Be cool. I had two incidents in recent months and patience was rewarded in both cases. I was the buyer in one sale and never could find the package. Was a little angry because the seller used media mail even though I paid $6 for shipping. Eventually I traced down the missing package (long story). In another case, it turned out that somehow a Paypal payment didn't go through. Suspect that I failed to click the final pay button. The seller and I eventually got together on it and completed the transaction. Avoided unecessary negatives in both cases.
