Full dial up yes, but Voip connected to my router and once the internet is back they will be available again.

That warehouse you're in has to be old enough to still have a copper phone line coming into it. How about using it for your BBS? I'm sure Ken will let you and Don will install the phone jack for just $20 Canadian, right?  ;-)

Those mischievous squirrels chewed through the Internet cable, eh?  That actually happened to me several years ago. The cable company had to run new cable to the house.

Ok, Ok...

I'll ask the question that everyone wants to ask...

@rcamp48 Do you really have that much traffic into your BBS that you need that many connections??? I mean, your BBS only manages to stay up for a couple hours every 2-3 years 🤔

I have been working on Puff BBS, and I have the INITBBS.MOD file semi working , still no internet and there won't be for a while, I am using my phone as a hotspot. I have successfully configured the Black Box in Altirra but I need some help, basically I have to set up the BB in Altirra for com ports ,etc. Again if someone has an actual BB for sale , I would be interested and it would help me work on Puff BBS with no problem.

Can someone please point me out to all of the info that I will need for emulating the BB in Altirra?,  Altirra even supports the dongle that is in joystick port 1 for Puff BBS.

Bummer. I still have a copper phone line connected to the Basement BBS. They are becoming a rarity. But it still works great for my dial-up users.

Well good news for all, I have managed to restore at least the disk structure for Puff BBS, and it looks like I may be able to run it on a Fujinet, its still being worked on now I started working on Puff BBS last night and I completely understand where everything goes on the disk, I am using Spartados instead of Mydos, and Atari Basic C.

I have even got the initbbs module working and with all of the data in place, I removed most but not all of the XIO commands as they were for the Black Box, but I do have a copy of all of the original mod files to fall back on.

By midnight I might have something semi working but I have to edit all of the XIO commands to C:, the xio commands to K: are Ok that is keyboard.

Tell me if what I replaced the C:, references with I basically opened a channel to drive # 2, TEST.TXT, and wrote to that file, seems to get it working OK.

I am going to have to take all of the BAS and MOD files and replace the C:, commands with something that works.

Is anyone else working on Puff BBS at this moment???

If so I would like to collaborate with you on this.....

Russ

The "C:" device is not the Cassette Drive, but rather the interface to MOE IIRC.

To run this on a real machine, you'll need to make a Dongle (as explained in other threads) and some kind of ring detector.

I was thinking about having the FujiNet device signal the A8 when the Connection is made...

Ya I knew that , but how to configure it on Altirra? , there is a dongle emulator for joystick port.

I have a complete copy of Puff BBS but its in directories formatted in spartados, working on copying every directory to Mydos, will take some time.

Russ

Why would you go from a BBS that already works under SpartaDOS to MyDOS?  Makes no sense to me.

Russ is really your last hope?  So, you will finally give up on this search if/when Russ comes up empty handed? 😆
