Do you have the OPA Co-Processor Card?

Hi everyone. I decided to write this Info Sheet on my company's Co-Processor Card to answer the many
"What is it?", "What does it do?" questions about the new Z80 card for the TI and Geneve computers. Well,
in short, the card will allow a user to run Z80 Assembly code plus the Colecovision game cartridges, with
a big increase of speed compared to other Z80 computers. This is so because the CPU used on this card
can run up to 25 MHz, which is about six times faster than the most common Z80 chip in use running at
4 MHz).

Sadly, only 3 or 5 were made, it was basically a better morning star version. Not sure where those 3 or 5 are now. One is list for sure. Mine own. But it's on my to-do list to recreate it and now we can do it even better thanks to the world of newer z80 and picos.

Would love to work on recreating the original morning star one and redoing the DSR to allow for 80 columns now that we have newer vdp for our ti99, so let's work on dumping the DSR and hopefully the PAL as well so we can continue on with research to recreate them.

This one is in really good condition and looks like the memory can be expanded as well.

Oh, wow! That looks very duplicable^H^H^Hduplicatabl^H^H^Hwe can make a copy.

Edit: oh these is a pal hiding out in the bottom corner. Dang.

I am in touch with the designer/manufacturer and there's no need at this point to duplicate them.   more to come

Well, here's hoping for 150 unsold cards sitting in a climate-controlled storage unit. A man can dream, after all.

I sort of laugh there, as legend had it that the majority of these ended up squirreled away in a basement, so the fact that @arcadeshopper has contact with the guy who built them is interesting. He might also check to see if there are any of the MorningStar 128K cards stashed away there. . .

The MorningStar memory cards are nice - I wrote a better DSR for them, that allows them to operate as RAMBO memory, as they had a function already in the hardware, that allows for pages to be mapped to the >6000 space.

EDIT: For the fun of it, since its in my mind fresh, here is the source, incase anyone gets a Morning Star 128K card! :)

I will do an official release at some point, in the meantime, enjoy! :)

By all means, 80 column mode would be amazing if these do show up in some form. But part of me is tickled at the impracticality of windowed 40 column everything. It sounds absolutely miserable, and I desperately want to try it.

Hi Greg,

Have you had any update from the manufacturer regarding if these cards will become available.  Appreciate your hard work in everything you do in the TI community

CP/M can be coerced to access native graphics and sound on the host system as I did on the Coleco Adam computer. Combined with Turbo Pascal 3.0 you have a great development environment.

Getting my hands on a CP/M card for the TI has been a holy grail of mine. I hope this pans out...
