+atari2600land
OK, so I have 20 games for this, and the only one I like a lot is Thunderball. Pick Axe Pete is a close second. I know that the Odyssey 2 wasn't a very popular system, I'm beginning to see why. Anyway, what are your faves for this system, and should I get the homebrews? +thegoldenband
Smithereens is tremendous fun for two players, especially with the Voice. For me that's the system's standout game. I also really like Loony Balloon (which wasn't released in the US). Killer Bees has its charm. Breakdown/Blockout is an interesting two-player twist on Breakout, and the homebrew Mr. Roboto is also a good two-player game. Otherwise, yeah, the library's fairly thin. I haven't yet tried the board games, though, and there were a few more titles that seemed promising when I tried them out (Clay Pigeons comes to mind). +atari2600land
Can you play the voice games (i.e. KC's Crazy Chase) without the voice module?
superbee
You´ll find a lot of fun with titles like: UFO Freedom Figthers (maybe is needed a time to discovery how good it is) Pick Axe Pete Attack Of The Timelord Killer Bees Turtles Acrobats K.C Munchkin (I forgot this one) For 2 players Showdown in 2100 AD Spinout Smithereens The Master Strategie Series are great for it´s time, as multplayer game. I like all Parker releases (except Popeye), the Parker protos are very good specially Tutankham. Outside U.S there´s other fun games like Super Bee, Looney Ballon, Neutron Star and The Blobbers. Maybe you can try the Multcart: http://www.classicgamecreations.com/ Edited January 11, 2011 by superbee
superbee
Can you play the voice games (i.e. KC's Crazy Chase) without the voice module? Yes, all "voice games" can be played without the Voice. Except the games called "voice Series"; Nimble Numbers Need, SiD the Spellbinder and Type and Tell.

Rev. Rob
KILL THE ATTACKING ALIENS I am also fond of the "Challenger Series" games... Quest for the Rings and Conquest of the World.
accousticguitar
Labyrinth is the best game I've found for the O2.
+thegoldenband
My Favorite on that system is : Catapulte (it is the french title) The english title is "stone sling" Mais le titre américain, c'est "Smithereens" Donc, d'accord!
Keatah
Nothing quite like a good game of Odyseey^2 on a cold winter's night. Most any game will do.
Seob
Robot city is also a good one, as well as kc munchkin. And the imagic titles are great, but those where not available in the usa.
Gabriel
I adore Quest for the Rings. It MUST be played with the gameboard, though, and it helps if everyone acts like they're role-playing in D&D. Smithereens is simplistic but awesome in that simplicity. The springy O2 controllers really make the game. Both the KC games are cool, and worth owning the system for. They're the best Pac-type games of the era. Attack of the Timelord is neat. Mainly, I wish I had The Voice. One of these days I need to get Conquest of the World.
ubersaurus
There's actually quite a few quality games on it, homebrew and otherwise. Kill The Attacking Aliens, UFO, Attack of the Timelord, KC Munchkin, KC's Krazy Chase, Showdown in 2100 AD, Smithereens, Turtles, Planet Lander, Killer Bees, both Imagic games (which WERE released stateside). I'd actually say invest in the multicart. Robot City, other protos, and the overseas-only releases are some quality games on the system (Frogger, Spiderman, and Tutankham all come to mind) so you may want to check that out. I actually wrote a piece for Infinitelives on KC's Krazy Chase that was reposted to Kotaku, if you want to take a look. I'd say it's probably the best classic game on the system. http://www.kotaku.com.au/2010/12/bizarre-game-mashup-a-k-c-%E2%80%99s-krazy-chase-retrospective/
accousticguitar
I've been going through my Odyssey 2 games the last couple days. I've got about 40 titles, and I've found a few more that I like: Smithereens, Killer Bees, and KC's Krazy Chase. Krazy Chase is really, really good! It's fun and addictive. It's by far and away the best game on the system. I played it so much that lousy O2 controller was hurting my hand, so I made an adapter so I can plug in any CX-40 I have laying around. Much better! +swlovinist
Buy the multicart like others have said, and call it good. Freedom Fighters is great, my favorite is smithereens 2player.

Seob
As of 2006, Ed worked at Microsoft, as a program manager on the Windows Shell team. He's married to Linda Averett, who worked with him during his Odyssey 2 years, and now also works at Microsoft. Most of the binaries for the homebrews are downloadable for play on the Odyssey2 emulator, so you should be able to judge for yourself. That said, the Tedfoolery games are amazing.
