tyranthraxus
Anybody have one of these? I have been hoping to come across one for a while now. They seem like a cool little device. I'd love to pull one out the next time I see someone fiddling with their Palm Pilot.
Curt Vendel
They are always on Ebay.com and they've come down significantly in price, it used to be you couldn't get one for under $75-$100, now you see them in the $25-$40 range give or take a few dollars. Even today they are still useful little devices. Curt
Sir Plus
I heard that the one used in T2 auctioned off at $12k
bolid
I have two Portfolios and a lot of additional equipment - serial port, parallel port, Portfolio card reader for PC, all standard memory cards, and few Mb of software... I use it still today.

goatdan
I have a Portfolio. I used to take it to school and type papers between classes. The thing is remarkable given it's age. Unfortunately, mine had a run in with some Mountain Dew in my backpack, and it didn't like it very much I loved the system though -- I had the card interface um... card plugged into my HP computer, and I could tranfer files immediately into Microsoft Word, which would make them Word files from TXT files. If you are getting it to me more of a useful tool though, I would suggest getting a Palm Pilot. While they aren't Atari creations, there is so much more that you can do with a Palm Pilot nowadays, and they are getting so cheap that they're worth it in my opinion. Joey Kay
I would agree that they're fun to tinker around with (I finally picked one up earlier this year) but if you're looking for practicality, a Palm Pilot is a better buy... However, the Portfolio is still fun to have! Cheers! Joey
tyranthraxus
I am more interested in the portfolio being used to store telephone numbers and addresses and a few other things rather than doing some hard core hand held computing. Can the portfolio still be connected to a computer and transfer files? John
