+atari2600land
The reset button for my Sega Genesis doesn't do anything, and I was wondering what the problem might be and if I can fix it myself.
CGQuarterly
If the button works like controller buttons do, you might just need to clean the contacts. I don't really see what else it could be. Take your console apart and clean the contacts with a white eraser to get rid of any oxidation and built-up dirt. Chris
Itchy Koala
Aren't the genesis buttons spring loaded? It might just be off-set or some kind of mechanical issue probably
+atari2600land
What size screws do they use to screw the thing shut? I have unsuccessfully attempted to unscrew the stupid things.
nathanallan
The case screws? I use a cheap-o screwdriver, they are not very small. The same screwdriver I use to take apart a 2600 I use for the Genesis. Some soldering might be involved, if the button can't be cleaned go ahead and replace it. Not too hard to do. zylon
Genny's use a carbon dot under a rubber boot sealed to its base. You can replace it with a 7800 style microswitch.
