StanJr
Well its not. Its not working on StellaX, everything is fine until you start a game and then the play screen is just a mess of jumbled graphics. And I can't even get a game to start on PCAE. Help? oesii
well, the ROM works, I just got done downloading it from here and playing it with Stella 1.2 for the Mac. Fun game btw, hadn't had the chance to play it, now I might have to buy it Maybe a trip to Voch's Stella Profile Page is in order: http://home.earthlink.net/~voch/atari.html download the most current Stella Pro file and place it in the stella/cyberstella directory. Make sure you have the most current version of Stella too, I think its at 1.2 Also, I think Z26 is one of the best emulators out there in terms of compatiblity so you might want to give it a try to. StanJr
So now I have to download ANOTHER emulator? Sheesh. This emulator crap ain't what its cracked up to be. Oh and I know z26 is a great emu, but you have to have all kinds of know-how to make it work right. I have no know-how. Frustrated Stan
oesii
No need to fret, I just tried it out in Cyberstella on my Windows machine and Space Treat works well. You probably just need to update the Stella pro file and/or get Cyberstella not StellaX. Check out the handy emulators link in AA's 2600 section. And yes, you do have to keep these emulators updated and have different ones ready to go if you want to play the latest and the greatest
oesii
and before even more frustation breaks out, the link to Cyberstella at Soundforge is down right now, so here's a good place to download it. It's an updated version of StellaX and is as easy to use: http://www.zophar.net/Files/cyberstella-1.2.zip
StanJr
So should I get rid of my OLD StellaX or will this just replace it?
oesii
So should I get rid of my OLD StellaX or will this just replace it? no need to replace StellaX until you are happy that Cyberstella is working on your system, Cyberstella will install itself in its own folder, so you can just move over all your roms or just point CS to where you have them now. Don't forget to get the most current Stella pro file.
StanJr
And just how do I go about that?
oesii
well, I guess the easiest thing you can try is to install Cyberstella, the profile file and see if the Space Treat rom works for you. -Download Cyberstella at the link from Zophar.net ( http://www.zophar.net/a2600.html ). -Unzip the file into it's own directory. -Download the current Stella Pro file from Voch's page ( http://home.earthlink.net/~voch/atari.html ), its the file called stella.zip -Put the Stella Pro file in the same directory as Cyberstella. -Get the Space Treat rom from AA, or move the one you have into the Cyberstella folder. -Run Cyberstella and see if Space Treat works. Space bar starts the game, arrows to move.
StanJr
Thanks I'll try that tomorrow, my patience is at end today! You have been exceptionally helpful! Appreciative Stan
StanJr
Ok, so I did it (I think) I did get to play Space Treat, but the colors were all wrong (my little guy was pink!) How do I fix that? And can I take screenshots with Cyber Stella?

And can I take screenshots with Cyber Stella? Yeah, your little guy is supposed to be blue, just making sure you got the latest Stella.pro file from Voch's website, unzipped it and replaced the old .pro file in your cyberstella directory? That's the only thing I can think of to get the correct colors. Maybe our back and forth babble will attract more knowledge guys I couldn't find any documentation on how to take screenshots with Cyberstella, on the Stella mailing list archive there's a few mentions of using Z26 to take screens maybe because it's not available on Cyberstella? StanJr
yeah, I unzipped the new Stella pro thingy and replaced the old one with it. Could it be a problem with toggling the Color/BW switch? And if so, how do I toggle stuff like that (diff levels, Color /BW, etc)
oesii
ack, there's a docs folder included in cyberstella and here's the keyboard layout including F12 for a snapshot, I think I quickly read for a screenshot and missed that (i'd love to see your yellow rouge sprite ): 6. StanJr
that's my bad. I missed that section in the docs when I was reading them (mainly because the docs were mega all over the place), but thanks. I don't know how but I fixed the color problem. Thanks! oesii
cool, now we have to talk about how cool this game is on the 2600 forum I think it will be up for sale in a month or two here at AA, I'll have it down on my want list, it's pretty challenging I can only get to level 6 right now

We are working on a new label and manual for it, and Rasty is busy coding some final changes to it. ..Al
