Spectravideo Songmate for Compumate 5 Day Auction

Hi,

 

To be fair with all the Users, I will run a 5 day auction for this unheard of Software. only two exists so far and I have both. I will keep one and I will keep the other for now.

 

 

 

The Auction will work this way: You Pm me with your bid and I will update this post with the maximun bid so far (no mention of the bidders) is optional to post Pm sent since the bid could be guessed. No problem if a bidder post his bid.

 

I think is the most fair way I can think off, everyone has the chance to bid again if you are being outbid, like in every auction site. I was a bidder in a couple of auctions here and I didn´t get a answer if I where outbid (I maybe could bid again)

 

The first Bid is 200$ confirmed last night.

I have a dilemma, I was away (attending my family) yesterday and I didn´t update the Auction properly, So many bidders didn´t recieve feedback of theirs bids until too late, especiall y People from Europe. and since the all the bids except the first one where made on sunday, I think is better to extend the auction one more day.

 

It will end tomorrow morning at exactly the same time I started the post, no more extensions. Sorry for this, is my first AtariAge Auction experience.

Shipping is to be arranged with the winner, also the testing of the Tape.

This is what I hate about these types of auctions. If Sunday is the ending of this, then it should be Sunday....even if you are away. You should have used gamegavel or something. Now, I have lost confidence in you and would have bid for more. I planned my bidding according to your timeline and now it has been extended....wow....

 

If you put something of high profile in the future, I will definitely not commit to the bidding. Maybe this is an omen....I am glad that I did not win because I have a very big feeling that there are a hundred more of these in somebody´s closet in Venezuela...reminds me of the compumate, ikari, motor story. Everybody knows my integrity, contributions and niceness (I never get mad and I am very patient....I do not think I have ever sounded off in these forums) but something like this really pisses me off...especially when there is a track record of this type of item showing up and then fooling everybody. I can imagine the next post, "oh, after I came back from my family, my friend called me telling me that there are 50 boxes like this next to these boxes that say Ikari and Compumate." Sorry that I am mad but as a huge contributor and buyer in this hobby, I think this was chicken sh.t.

I took some bad decisions and I think the way of compensate them was to add one more day. One of the mistakes that happen, was a post about the last bid recieved (when you where outbid) that I write, hit "add reply" and go to sleep, turns out that was a browser or connection error and the messsage was not posted (you can see a mistake post here, when I refresh the web page) was very unfortunate that you where out of the country. and didn´t get the message.

I have another tape. if I consider selling it i will do things different. But is a nice feeling to have a very rare item, only 2 known to exist. But I have to be realistic and maybe I will consider selling it.

I never know what i could find there. if where houndreds of tapes where are the picturemate ones? I will try to find the more stuff as I can, when you clear out a zone, you can dig up interesting stuff.

Ive spent tons of money with this member edintv and I do no think he would intnetionally try to screw over anyone. His items always arrive. If theres a problem he takes care of it. His prices are more than fair.....and if he doesnt have what you need now, just wait..He is always listing something. Great to deal with no matter what!

i have had good help from edintv. we are all just jelous because he is PITTFALL HARRY digging though the ruins of warehouses is search of rare atari treasure.

 

lets see how generous the winning buyer is. he will get his songmate tape in a few weeks. can we expect to see him post the ripped wav file of the tape? several atariage members have compumates, so that file would be an huge asset to the community. also, if he doesnt "rip" it the tape will decompose and the file will be lost forever.

 

edintv doesnt want to rip it. cant blame him. thats like making a mold/cast of your own golden cow. its a sacrilege.

next time maybe he should ask 3x what he thinks the highest bid should be, and just wait a week or so till someone pays for it.. seemed like he was being nice trying to keep it amongst atariage members.

 

they can update the forum, make and sell carts, ect. how hard would a simple unregulated bidding system be. not something that plays middleman or attempts to get a cut. not something that is too strict. a nice quiet and discrete way to auction of just this kind of item on atariage.

heck, maybe there allready is a way to do that here. dont send edintv to gamegavel. what, so he can register at some OTHER website? registering name and password and address at a million different websites is annoying, unsafe, and a damn waste of time..

Well, this one on ebay - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140569248560 - with a Compumate thrown in went for $209.37 and this one - eBay Auction -- Item Number: 140612357676 went for $170.49.

If these weren't coming out of Venezuela, I'd pick it up myself for $170 and have it ripped. But as it comes from V, its probably not worth more than $10
