Taskmaster99
I did. The only reason I am typing right now is becuz my 3DS is charging. I know its Ocarina of Time and many of us have played this many times years back........but it doesnt feel old to me. Graphics have been updated a bit and the touch screen for the menu controls are great. The 3D once again does nothing for me.....but oh well. Navi is also more annoying than ever...but of course we all knew she would be based on the prior reports. All in all........this is one of the games that should have launched with the system. What a difference it would have made in sales. Let me know your thoughts.
+SpiceWare
I gamed on my C= 64 back then, so never played Legend of Zelda. I plan to pick it up in a week or 2 when I finish Lego Pirates.
NE146
I bought it.. but OOT was never my favorite Zelda. I actually bought it at release and finished it but was ultimately left somewhat disappointed (I wanted the regular 2D zelda ). But still.. I'm going to play through it again now that it's 3D and on a handheld (so I can play it on the crapper ) . Maybe my memory of it will be replaced. <edit> Be sure to register your game on your Club Nintendo account to get the free soundtrack! Video
I got it for the 64 years ago, and honestly, it did nothing for me back then either. I think I played it a grand total of 10 hours alltogether.
Lauren Tyler
Not yet. I do have a pre-order that I paid off in full, but the problem is that getting into Boston on the T on a Sunday is a PITA due to the fact there's no commuter rail service, and the bus that runs by my house doesn't run either. So, I'm getting it tomorrow! At any rate, I know LoZ: OoT is a 13 year old game, but to many it was the best video game of all time (at least on a Nintendo console.) I don't have a favorite honestly, each Zelda is good on its own merits if you ask me, but Ocarina of Time was a great game in my book. Arkhan
no, because I beat it when it was new and im tired of Square and Nintendo releasing remakes instead of good new stuff. My 3DS is sitting on a shelf in the box. I pretend I don't own one yet.
Ryanw
I picked it up today first store I went to, didn't preorder it. Having never really played the original, I didn't really know what to expect. So far though I have to agree with what I have been seeing: THIS is the game that should have launched the 3DS! I don't anticipate replacing the cartridge with Ridge Racer or Pilotwings any time in the near future.

NE146
I'm playing through zelda 3ds right now.. and I am enjoying it. However it's all coming back to me what was wrong with it. And #1 is.. the music isn't really ZELDA! Know what I mean? Once you get to Hyrule field you expect the overworld music but it's like a watered down remix that goes nowhere (and also turns off once it becomes night time). And the town music.. it's enough to drive you nuts. I think if they just shoved some redone SNES LTTP tunes on there the whole atmosphere would have changed for the better. It would have had the Zelda "feel". Maybe it's just me.

NE146
Zelda II: Adventure of Link ftw! Zelda II is one of my all time favorite games in my entire life. Seriously Heck I just played and finished it once again a couple months ago. It's music is the best too. But that being said I've always considered it a stand-alone Zelda side story.. not a Zelda proper. That's not a negative though to a great game. Atariboy
I thought Ocarina had some excellent music that had a traditional Zelda sound to it, including the overworld music. And there is a classic or two that have been reused, such as the village theme from Link to the Past. I didn't even miss the classic overworld music until I read online that it was missing and realized it wasn't there. I'm kind of glad it wasn't since I liked the Hyrule Field music they created. And I didn't care for the modernized overworld music they created for Majora's Mask in response to complaints about it not being in Ocarina. Something they did to it didn't really appeal to me at the time, but I'd have to listen to it again to be more specific about it.
Animan
To be honest, I have NEVER played Zelda: OOT before. Might get the 3DS version before I go on my 2 week vacation to Ireland.
Rex Dart
But that being said I've always considered it a stand-alone Zelda side story.. not a Zelda proper. Aren't nearly all of them? How many times can two people meet for the first time?

How many times can two people meet for the first time? Protip: Story doesn't matter in Legend of Zelda and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. By Zelda proper I mean going in an overworld, and finding dungeons with items that open up more of the overworld. The standard Zelda fare. Although these days like with the DS versions, etc... it's probably varying a lot more.
rockman_x_2002
I picked my copy up yesterday as well. Long story short, the game was great back in 1998. I've played it yesterday and today and I can confirm the game is still great. And yes, this game should've been available day one for the 3DS. If that had happened, sales for the thing would've gone right through the roof.

You might find this funny, but Zelda II is one of the darkest, scariest and most morbidly fascinating video games I've ever played.
Tr3vor
If they remade LTTP 3d in bolth ways (3d gameplay and sterioscopic) i would buy a 3ds, for oot, naw.
Animan
If they remade LTTP 3d in bolth ways (3d gameplay and sterioscopic) i would buy a 3ds, for oot, naw. Miyamoto himself said he'd be interested in taking games like LTTP into 3D because of the 3D "layering" style (he also mentioned Xevious as an example). I'll dig up the article later. Atariboy
Yes, but the gameplay would still be 2D. There would just be 3D depth added to Link to the Past (Along the lines of what they've already done to Excitebike on the Virtual Console). I think Tr3vor is asking for a Link to the Past remake with a 3D perspective like Ocarina of Time used along with the 3D effect of the 3DS. Ryanw
So far I have been having a great time. Probably have played for like 4 hours yet and just beat the cave where I get the fire jewelry or whatever it is. I am trying to beat this without a walk-through and just figure things out myself. I have been able to do that with the dungeons, but I really have a hard time figuring out where I have to go so that has been a challenge. This is definitely the best game on the 3DS right now and I am glad I waited until now to play it
